Let's leave the other one in the archives for posterity.

This one is for 2021.

Some fun facts to kick us off-

In Georgia, as of this posting, we're at an all time high of new coronavirus positive test results, 7-day rolling average, 4640 new cases per day.

When "they" said our hospitals were going to be overwhelmed, during the April peak, the 7-day moving average was only 842 new cases per day.

550% increase in daily new cases but somehow the hospitals still aren't overwhelmed. No "frontline" healthcare workers being applaused in the streets. No "nurse" protesters protesting the protesters with CNN in tow. No people dying on the sidewalk in a pool of their own lung blood.

Seems odd.

The GA DPH site is leaps and bounds cooler than it used to was. I recommend checking out some of the cool stuff they have on there now.

Another fun fact-

As of this posting, not one child under 10 has been hospitalized with coronavirus in Georgia. Not one.

Another fun fact-

In Georgia- If you are over 80 years old, and you get the coronavirus, there's a 70% chance you do not get hospitalized. The bad news is that if you do get hospitalized over 80, there's a 50% chance you never leave.

For some context, I would argue any person over 80 that gets hospitalized for something has a pretty good chance of not coming home, regardless of what that ailment is.

Positive Covid test does not equal being sick enough to be in a hospital. That's why the hospitals aren't being overwhelmed and why there was no rationale for flattening the curve in the first place. Vulnerable people should have been isolated with great precautions while the rest of the world carried on.
Oh and...... China is asshoe.

In Georgia-

Between the ages of 30 and 59, 267,000 confirmed positive cases.

1361 deaths.

0.5% mortality rate. Less than 1/2 of 1%.

I wonder how and what co-morbidities are associated with a great many of those deaths? It's important because those people need to take extra precautions, while the rest of us go on with normal life... says I.

Question- how will we know the vaccines are effective? Morbidity rate goes from 0.5% to 0.4%?

Just stuff to talk about.

Will it track how many of the vaccines are administered in GA? I’m sure when could find some solid, scientific statements made by the locals here that undoubtedly said there would not be a vaccine available in 2020

Vaccine effectiveness is based on infection rates, not mortality rates.

Two people close to me contracted COVID since December 9th. Neither is hospitalized yet. Both are monitoring with oximeters.

Taking school and other normal life activities from elementary aged kids will go down as the biggest frick up of this thing. And that's saying a lot.

The data has been saying, since the very beginning, that young kids are not going to get sick.

I live in a podunk town with a podunk hospital with 30 COVID patients in it right and 99 percent ICU capacity (HHS database). But there are some chief epidemiologists on a football message board telling me that I shouldn't be concerned about what the virus is doing to my town, so therefore I guess I'm not concerned about what the virus is doing to my town.

Seems like the know-it-alls who get into the conspiratorial stuff are the same ones who haven't personally known people who've died from the virus. Why not take that energy and count your blessings and be thankful, instead of educating people the rest of us on your vast knowledge of the subject!

Testing positive may not kill you, but if you are casually wandering around and pass Covid-19 to some elderly people or someone with other health problems and they die, will you even care? Idiots like you are why mask mandates and business closings are necessary.

News flash... you can check that number 2 years from now and it will still be the same. Carry on.

My dad can’t get this shite. It’s not about the virus. Never was. It’s about humanity. It’s being tested and we’re now ultimately seeing what we really are as humans.

Conspiratorial stuff? I posted the link from the Dept of Public Health. Are you denying the numbers? And if so, who is conspiratorial here?

Pretty weird how mask compliance is up but infections are still going up. Almost like they don't really work.

Which podunk hospital are you talking about? Don't worry, you can't be doxxed by telling me which hospital.

Mask compliance is not up around here.

Side note, my wife gets the jab tomorrow morning. I’ll let you know if she grows a dick.

Anyone that believes people without masks in crowded bars, restaurants and stores aren't spreading Covid-19 is indeed an idiot. Both my daughters in the Atlanta area have contracted Covid-19. They are teachers and are exposed to people daily that don't wear masks properly. Each passed it to their family members.
If I'm wearing a mask and you aren't, chances one of us could spread Covid-19 to the other. If we both are wearing masks, the chances are greatly reduced.

All I'm gonna say is I think people should have to wear masks in indoor/crowded areas. I worry about my parents getting hacked on by someone without a mask. Other than that, just let people make their own decisions. Businesses shouldn't be forced to close down over this.

You’re absolutely right. Would be really nice if the general public would respect the policies of these private businesses and wear a mask when required/asked.
