Make that 3. That NC didn't do a damn thing to convince me he's the man for the job. Defense won that game, not Stetquavius. Maybe his, what, sixth year in the system he'll actually become more than a game manager?

UGA was 3rd in conference for passing yards (behind Bama and Ole miss) in the first half of games in 2021.
Stetson had 9 passing attempts in the 4th quarter of the regular season in 2021 (25 against Bama in 2 games and 1 more against Michigan).

UGA was 2nd in conference (behind bama) for passing TDs in the 1st half.
UGA was 1 passing TD away from 1st in conference for passing TDs in the third quarter.

All of this "game manager" shite is for people who need to be told how to watch football.

So what have you seen from carson beck, brock, or gunner to lead you to believe they are the man for the job?

The guy is surrounded by 4 and 5* players. The only team in the SEC that even comes remotely close to having the weapons Stet has had is Bama. Of course he's going to put up decent numbers.

But if we're comparing oranges to oranges, we also need to compare Stet to Bryce Young. Both QBs with immense talent around them. One is a Heisman candidate with gaudy numbers as a freshman and the other puts up numbers far short of Bryce and is a graduate. Who would you take? I take Bryce all day, every day.

Bryce Young throws deep, my stomach drops because I know he's a damn weapon. Stet throws deep and I'm holding my breath praying it isn't a pick.

I find it humorous how all of you gay for Stet folks pretend that HE brought us a chip. Nah, our defense brought us that chip by keeping Bryce Young in check, dominating teams all season long, and only requiring Stet to not frick up too badly when we held the ball.

Whatever...this will be his last season and we can hopefully move onto a guy with the size, arm, accuracy, and makeup of a true NFL prospect. Then, and only then, will this offense TRULY hum and reach its potential.

On defense. Sure.

On offense, he is throwing to Ladd mckonkey (mid 3 star) and AD Mitchell (high 3 star). Those two led the wide receivers in receptions in 2021.

And this is the SEC. 4 star is not a high bar in this conference when you are stretching the rankings out to top 370 players in a class (and the recruiting services bump up players who are offered by good coaches).

Why do we have to compare Stetson to Bryce Young? Are you doing the same for gunner Stockton? Brock? Carson? JT?

Maybe you don't know football as well as you think you do. Stetson gets the ball up and down better than any UGA QB I can remember. If he is throwing deep in a 1 on 1, I have total confidence.

It is a team sport. But you seem to forget who the Orange Bowl and NCG MVP was. Stet played a big part of the offensive success.

Stetson is taller than Bryce Young and threw a more efficient deep ball in 2021. But you be you.

If you actually make accurate points about Stets deficiencies, I would agree with you. But you are the type of fan who needs to be told by others who is good and who is great. Nothing in your post is relevant to 2021 or 2022.

Bryce young isn't on our team you numbskull. If your entire argument is stetson isn't as good as the heisman winner well no fricking shite. The quesiton though is who on our roster should be starting instead of stetson, since you said he isn't the man for the job.

Nobody is comparing Stetson to Bryce Young. We’re comparing to the other options we had. Did I think J.T. was better than Stetson? Yes, but not by enough to have a debate lasting this long about. Especially not if there was off-the-field infighting over J.T.‘s injury status as has been rumored for a while now.

What we’re talking about with Stetson now is him versus Carson Beck and Brock Vandagriff. I can’t think of a reason to put them on the field versus a proven product, even if that product isn’t a Heisman candidate or 1st round pick.

Nobody is suggesting Stetson had more to do with the championship than the defense. It is fair to say that Aaron Murray and Jake Fromm both had prime chances to win titles with 4th quarter leads versus Bama and couldn’t put a drive together when we needed it most. Stetson did that when he was put in that situation. He threw 2 TD’s in the last 9 minutes of a tight game and that is not a small contribution.

Wait, are you telling me a game manager threw 2 TDs in the 4th quarter of the Natty to come from behind and win it for UGA?

Against a 5* defense coached by Nick Saban.

What I don’t get is he is such an amazing underdog story and so many of our fans shite on him and never relented. It’s almost bizarre.

Yes, when all the chips were in, on the final hand. Nothing else in the world mattered for Alabama or Nick Saban, than stopping Stetson in the 4th quarter.

They couldn't.

He was too good of a game manager.

I’m glad the Mailman delivered for us. It was an incredible story and I’m glad there are still kids that work harder rather than give up.

I was a Daniels fan and had hoped that he would stay healthy and deliver a championship for us. It wasn’t meant to be for him, but we still got the championship. There is no reason to not be thankful for that, or to criticize those that helped make that possible, especially Bennett, who performed admirably in the face of constant doubt, especially by the fans that were supposed to support him as a Dawg.

I’m saddened that he didn’t have the full support of Dawg Nation, even after he secured the starting spot over a mostly healthy Daniels. He was our QB and he helped lead us to the mountain top, where we hadn’t been for over 40 years. He deserves all the accolades that he has received, and he deserves the support of the fans.

So, what you are saying is, he dropped his pants and Saban took a full load of his game management?
