Is this going to be a big deal for Kirby? I’m kinda worried. Not that I think any of this is on him BUT The media loves salacious stories. They love getting people fired and canceled. Great year for ESPN two weeks in. Off field drama sells almost as well as on field drama.

Probably not a huge deal, but it’s not like they didn’t know what was going on. They should have thrown money at this Bowles girl to make her go away.

100% disagree. The only thing tying that incident to UGA is the fact it was a UGA rented vehicle. That doesn't make UGA liable for a fricking thing. The reason we have such a shitty litigious society is because organizations give in to any little complaintant and settle out of court for sleeze lawyers. There's zero liability for UGA for what happened on that tragic night. Fight it in court, don't just write checks. Writing checks just encourages this bullshite sue culture that has permeated this country.

I never said UGA was liable. I said make her go away. All kinds of embarrassing things can come out in court depositions. Everything is free game. Case in point, drinking and driving employees.

She’s lucky to be alive. Feel terrible about her horrific injuries and suffering. But theres no way she or her family and even her lawyers dont understand on some level how disgusting this is.

That’s the root of the problem. Shitty humans.

What's more nefarious, in your heart?

Hosting a staff party where people (legal adults) drink, or "making people go away"?

Neither. The University has the money to make her go away, ie pay her to not talk about things that could embarrass it. I don’t like it anymore than you do, but it’s the way things are.

Horse shite. It's only "the way things are" because too many people accept the false narrative that it's "the way things are". What you are suggesting is mafia style tactics. Offer an envelope with a bunch of money to keep quiet, and if you don't take it, then you get capped. I think that's way more nefarious than hosting a staff party at the boss's house.

I agree with your sentiment, but I’m not trying to change the world. Make the most logical choice based on the circumstances presented. She was a passenger in a truck driven by someone drunk and racing. She’s angry and looking to make someone pay for what happened to her. There’s no telling what kind of stories could come from her. If I’m the University, my reputation is more valuable than whatever it would take to make her be quiet and walk away.

There's your disconnect with reality.

If UGA hired a cloaked film noir guy in a trenchcoat in the alley in the rain (with a cigarette that mysteriously doesn't get wet in the storm) and offers her $1 Million Dollars in unmarked bills in a briefcase to keep her mouth shut, what reputation are you trying to hold on to at that point?

So are you good with this going all the way to the top?

Was the Bowles woman drinking too? Was she wearing a seat belt? Many things can remove liability from UGA and shift it to her as well as the driver.

None of that matters. UGA is not responsible just because they rented the car.

I used to travel frequently for business. I had a company card that paid for it all. Airfare. Rental Cars. Lodging. Per Diem for meals. Incidentals. If I got loaded at a bar on one of my business trips, and drove my rental car drunk at high speeds and killed other people, including myself, is my employer responsible for the damages?

No, the answer is No.

This is ambulance chasing shitfrick lawyer bullshite.

You know what it means.
Letting the media blame it on Kirby and forcing him out. That’s what they want. That would be great for ratings.

You seem very certain. Have you participated in the training that is required to drive a state vehicle?

They (her legal team)are just tossing it all out because they know media will eat it all up and print it. Plus it is the offseason.

Her attorneys allege alcohol and coaches’ cash helped lubricate Georgia’s powerhouse

She does have any number of text messages that will be a bad look as we know what actually goes on with recruiting.

I am sure the goal is to settle and likely what UGA will do. Can’t imagine they want a bunch of staffers and coaches under oath and phone records subpoenaed.

She is an adult that made adult decisions but will frame it as having to do it to keep her job.

It was just a rehash of everything that happened.

But of course other fanbases are creaming their pants and saying that "gEoRgIA iS doNe!"

Chigator is on the MSB melting again like he did when this initially happened.

I have. She violated numerous policies and didn’t follow many directives she agreed to if she went thru that training.
