I'm not saying he'll take Andrew's job, but if Saturday was any indication, he's too good to keep off the field. Cade was taking on one, sometimes two or three defenders on every play. Almost flawless in both run and pass, best half of football I've ever seen from a true freshman OL. I know South Carolina's defense was getting tired, but Mays is huge, quick and relentless. Even with all our depth, he is a huge addition.

With Thomas nursing an ankle injury, Mays will probably see a lot of time against MTSU.

he will start soon. Where? I got no clue. But its likely we wont go all year w/ out an injury and he seems like the next man up at this point.

It makes you really appreciate all the shuffling the top ~8 OL did in the spring/summer. We have a couple guys who could literally get plugged in anywhere on the line and be more than serviceable. Pittman will never get paid enough, as far as I'm concerned.

Mays was flawless.

But a lot of the early passing that he saw was RPO (I think to protect him or at least get him into he flow of the game. Maybe to let him beat up the guy across from him to slow down any future pass rush ).

I could see him at left guard or right tackle down the road. But I don't think we want to rush him against future nfl pass rushers at the left tackle spot for a full game.

Every play that had a pass rush Cade did his job well and stonewalled any attempt at pressure. On running plays he flat out mauled one or two people on his side. He was a mismatch. That said, Thomas is a damn good LT and won’t lost his job to Cade.

Am I the only one thinking Mays should get a chance at LG? If he is that over powering and quick he could shine there.

I know Mays was highly rated in HS but damn, I did not think he would come in a beast mode it immediately. A Thomas is our best lineman but damn if Mays didn't earn some playing time.

Put Hill at center and let Mays play LG. Then that line is super stacked with young guys. Crazy thing is we haven't even brought J Salyer in the picture yet.

The oline is so stacked and will only get better.

Cade did the same stuff is high school. He was an absolute mauler however he took some knocks for having an out of control temper. I think he was getting one or two Personal Fouls a game because when he gets you off balance he doesn’t quit. UT fans tried to convince themselves he was overrated and would never pan out but landing him and the OL class last year is what will win titles. He’s a damn beast

It was very fun to watch him come in and start wrecking shite immediately. And very telling that they didn’t shift a veteran to replace Thomas, but let the true freshman do it.

i noticed too that he was very effective as soon as he came in...it was a beautiful thing....he should def get some PT somewhere...thats all Ive heard from cock fans and fans of other teams at work today...about how dominant our oline was all game.

...and Pittman needs to do whatever is necessary to get his little brother on campus as well.

He may start there this Saturday, because I doubt Smart risk playing Thomas in this game. However, he's not going to unseat Thomas. Thomas is a complete stud.

It’s awesome that we have so many players that are too good to keep off the field that we actually struggle to get them all on the field.

Yeah which is why I underestimated him, b/c of their high school level of competition. Just was having flashbacks to Marlon Brown and him dominating in high school. Although M Brown is still in the NFL so that bodes well for Cade.

He also mauled kids in camp settings and his dad was a pro. Knowing the bloodlines and just how powerful and big he is you had to know he was going to be a good player. I’m just shocked at how good he looked against a team with legit 4 stars all over the field.
