Please remind me what Fields won at Ohio State that Fromm didn't win at Georgia.

Heisman trophy nope
National Championship nope.

Even though he ended up playing for a better team at Ohio State he still was not good enough to win the National Championship.

Lots of factors as to what team won what in a given year. There's one objective measure of who was a better player:

Fields - NFL 1st round, now a starting NFL QB
Fromm - NFL 5th round, washed out, now practice squad

That's all you need to look at.

What does "certain types of players " mean?

I think his preferences are fairly obvious.

What do Fromm and Bennett have in common, versus Fields and Daniels. I'm sure there are many places you can go on this intellectual journey.

You make me tired. A better QB at the college level has nothing to do with what the same QBs do in the NFL. At Georgia, Fromm was the QB the coaching staff believed could lead the team.

stepped foot on campus in 1964. This defense reminds me so much of Erk Russells Junkyard Dogs

IDK bout that.Erk rarely had elite
talent (one 1st rounder in 15 years) and this defense is loaded with elite talent.

I will say they play with a purpose and identity similar to Erk's defenses.

I will be glad if I never see Fields' name mentioned on the rant, ever again. He never came close to taking the job from Fromm, during practice time, from all accounts.

Fields played at a school in the big ten that does not face big time defenses like you see in the SEC. Of course he looked good playing in that conference.

Why do you suppose? Could it be that someone might be a "better" QB at the college level simply because they are surrounded by talent greatly superior than the other college teams they face...but then they lose that advantage at the pro level? Hmmmmm.

The NFL exposes flaws a lot more than college.

2021 Justin Fields isn't 2018 Justin Fields. He can be Superbowl MVP next year and it doesn't mean shite about whether or not he should have started in 2018 as a true freshman.

NFL "Potential" doesn't equal "best guy to win the game tomorrow." Which is all most college coaches care about. If Jake Fromm absolutely sucked, it would be a different story. But coming off 2017, Fromm was doing damn good. And Fields got more playing time than I personally think he should have had. That was the first year with the 4-game redshirt rule, where you can play in 4 games and keep your redshirt. If anything, we burned that opportunity by playing him too much.

With Stet being a senior and walking Saturday, does he have another year of eligibility left?
