Maybe this forces Coley to consider getting Cook the ball in space.

Smart explained last Saturday why Cager has continued to practice.

“It’s one of those deals where you say, ‘why don’t you just shut him down?’ ” Smart said. “Shutting him down doesn’t necessarily get him healthy. either. He doesn’t take the hits and the pounding during the week so it’s one of those he’s helping take a little mileage off the other guys and he’s also staying fresh in the offense.

“Sometimes when you step away, you get away. It’s not his legs that are tired, it’s his injury.”

Hoping for a speedy, full recovery for Cager. He’s a baller & hate to see a great player sidelined.

This obviously sucks, but if we’re gonna be worth a shite in the next couple years, these younger receivers are gonna have to step up and develop a chemistry with Fromm.

Cager being out will take the training wheels off. Time to grow up.

Next man up. WR room needs to see this as an opportunity to prove some things. Jake needs to schedule a meeting with the WRs and do that leadership thing.

This will force Fromm to look to other guys in the passing game. They're gamers - Blaylock, Pickens, Jackson, Simmons, Cook - all of them.

Don't worry about mistakes in this game. Let's see what they can do.

If they keep putting Landers in then that's all we gonna see is a mistake.

You claim to be a walk-on yet nobody knows who you are.

Nothing worse than groupie who couldn't let it go.

LSU is going to have an easy defensive plan against us. The SEC CG could turn into a route unless things magically start to click between Fromm and receivers not named Cager.

Looks like the GT game is a perfect opportunity to work on QB-WR timing/chemistry.

I know GT is not good this year but specifically, what's the GT secondary like? I'd say sling it the entire game as a tune-up for LSU.

They probably aren't any worse than South Carolina in coverage. It's their run defense/pass rush that's struggled.

Which is exactly what Pickens did against Mizzou, only to have one catch the next week against Auburn.

The kids are ready...Jake needs to let them shine.
