Holy shite that would be huge.

Would be incredible to have him back. Thought he would be holding out for an OC job as his next move.

Does anyone have the list of the recruits he brought in for us as primary recruiter from his last stint with us?

Make it happen Kirby

I tend to disagree as most recruits will know he is looking to jump for an OC or Head coaching opportunity.

with the portal situation i wonder if that is as big of a deal now...that could be a negative recruiting pitch tho, fair point.

That would be really nice from a coaching and recruiting standpoint.

Put me in the camp of preferring a QB specific coach to be brought in, given that Monken has been a WR specialist and was rumored to have mostly taken over that room last year. There is maybe something to be said for not having your OC be the direct POC for WRs, since they tend to be your most "diva" esque players, with regards to wanting more snaps/targets/redzone targets/etc... But developing one of the stud recruit QBs has to be a top priority.

Not anti BMac at all, just not sure he's the piece that is missing to continue transforming offense either. If Monken is on way out to the NFL for some reason on the other hand, then I'd say give me BMac in a heartbeat and go grab an OC/QB specialist and call it a day...

i think he took over the WR room because he had to, right? If you have a legitimate WR coach that doesnt need babysitting that frees Monken up to help more with QBs. Plus Bobo being brought on is another resource for QB development.

I'm not completely sold that QB development is an issue, either

Wasn't he the WR coach when our WRs had brick hands?

He was RB coach for most of his time here. Took over WR a couple years before right got fired I think.

Tony Ball was the guy that sucked as WR coach I think

I'm shocked Hines Ward hasn't gotten a serious look as WR coach.

BMac was a lights out recruiter, however.

I thought Terence Edwards would have been a candidate for the WR coaching position.

Has he ever coached at the college level before??

I am sure recruiting prowess is going to be a major qualification for the job.

From what's been shared elsewhere though, that's not his bread and butter. He was a WR coach originally.

From his wiki page, the only 2 years that he had obvious "QB" ownership was 2011-12 when he returned to Oklahoma State as OC/QB after a 3-4 year run with the Jags. Not saying he can't be a QB coach, but if we're trying to maximize capabilities/value, I'd rather him do the thing we know he's great at... WR + offensive scheme... let someone else that specializes in QBs do that work...

I heard he interviewed for HC at the Cowboys, but that sounds like outkicking your coverage when you've never been a HC before.

Kirby will be interviewing 4-5 candidates. BMac is one, Ward, TE, and another name that escapes me, but might be the best one out of all of them. Damn, sorry guys, I'm losing my mind.

Yep. Believe he's in the mix due to connections with Matt Luke (in addition to being a good coach).

For reference, here's his all time recruit list:

Laquon Treadwell, AJ Brown, Van Jefferson, DK Metcalf certainly highlights on the list.
