That suck. I guess we'll see if all that talk about Cash Jones is true.

Dammit man! He’s the best pure rb we’ve had in a bit. Was really looking forward to him getting healthy from the ankle and dominating. Hopefully the other backs that are banged up come back ready to eat.

I'm guesing he'll still be 5th in line after Milton/Edwards/Paul/Robinson right?

Although our first 2 games are so easy that we may want to let kendall and edwards rest and if paul is still a little dinged I geuss we would be in for a ton of reps for CJ

Don’t want this to turn into a CJ thread because Robinson deserves his condolences, but I think CJ is basically slated to be the 3rd down back. He’s essentially regarded as the best receiver among the backs and I’d assume he’s a good enough blocker so him being in wouldn’t be an advertisement of whether or not Carson has an extra blocker on a given snap.

Kendall is injured too. And has the hamstrings of gerbils apparently

It's Mustard season. Paul and Cash will be needed when Mustard is tired of running over and by fools.

Aside from complacency, injury is the biggest issue facing GA.

Going into 2023 I’m assuming you mean? That may even be a stretch.

If you mean in 2022 and recent history then no… He’s not shown, at least so far, he’s better than McIntosh, Edwards, Zeus, James Cook, or even Kendall Milton IMO

Jones has been running 2nd team with Milton out. He’s the top receiving target out of the backfield thus far.

If you want to get picky about it, McIntosh was great, but purely as a rb Branson shows better characteristics. Better patience, burst, better contact balance. Cook was great in 21 but this board seemed to unanimously agree that he was mismanaged trying to be a traditional rb the first couple years. Like McIntosh, much of his skillset involved the passing game. Zeus had great power but not super vision or elusiveness. Edwards I actually think is a decent argument, though I don’t think he’s as physically gifted as Robinson. Milton….I like him a lot but the injuries and what I would call lack of rb identity seem to plague him. I remember several occasions last year near the goal line where he’d get in the open field, forget how big he is, and try to put finesse a 180 pound corner. He got a bit better at this after the midsession injury. If he’d embrace his size and run like it and the injuries lessen, he could be great.

I’m not attempting to bash anyone of these other backs. They all played big roles in our recent success. But I do think from purely a run between the tackles standpoint that Robinson had a chance to be the best in a while.

Not sure how you came to this conclusion. Robinson played in the 4th quarter when defenses were gassed. Hope the kid gets healthy and becomes a stud for our Dawgs but calling him our best pure RB in a while is a bit much.
