Is it possible that the frustrations Beck had from reading social media and his own fans brutally and vilely attacking him played a part in where his head was?
If criticism over his play is considering brutally and vilely attacking him he will never be able to handle the NFL. Good thing he’s made his millions now!

With the 2nd most drops in college last year we still won the SEC and beat Texas twice on their way to a National Championship game. Let that sink in.

How do you know what he was reading? Maybe he should have focused as a 22 year old his relationships with his OC and the rest of the team. Don’t blame the fans for having eyes. He averaged 2 INT’s per game, that’s on him too. Sorry if we have a problem with pumping sunshine on players that don’t deserve it

I told you I spoke with his Dad. I didn’t say you had to pump sunshine, I said your kind needed to not be horrible people. Not every INT was on him. Some were receivers not doing what they were supposed to do. Either way, he was a DGD who helped us win a SEC championship and y’all act like he fricked your favorite dog.

I think he would have been fine with accurate criticism of his play and he would have told you he was harder on himself than you were… but that’s not what happened.

Don't assume everyone on this board, or the internet, claiming to be a Georgia fan is a Georgia fan. I've been reading football boards since they started, and there are many trolls, either paid or just nothing better to do with their lives. They want to impact recruiting and now transfers (college football pundits play that game too). There have been more than a few on UGA boards (Scout, Rivals, 247, On3, AJC, Dawgrant, etc.) who almost never have a good thing to say about UGA coaches, players, fans, anything. Mark Richt turned UGA football around and they hounded him incessantly.
It's frequently not even rational criticism. Lucius Clay repeatedly suggested Kirby was a racist. Many continuously screamed for Kirby to bench Stetson during the 2021 season, after he won the '21 championship and during the undefeated 2022 season; they wanted Daniels or Beck to start. Then they started on Carson; can't hit the long ball, looks dour on the field, bought a fancy car, had a fancy girlfriend. It's not a specific criticism, it's non-stop negative ranting about everything, even during the most successful years in program history. If we win a big game, they might say something slightly positive, and then immediately resume their rants.
Some of those people probably do believe they know more about football and about UGA's team than anyone, as they second guess every decision with 100% certainty. That's terminal stupidity and there's no cure. But for many of them, UGA did frick their favorite dog, because their favorite dog is a rival team getting their brains beat in on an annual basis. For that group, being horrible, stupid "UGA fans" is their agenda. Best guess, we have some of both, dumb fans and plenty of trolls.

I agree with most of that but there are certified dawg fans I know in real life who now hate Carson Beck, they aren't trolls, they are legit fans, who hate him now. And yes, it's the same crew who hated Stetson. They believe whatever Anthony Dasher or the AJC or ON3 tells them. They follow these things on social media, and consider themselves informed. Let me repeat that, they follow these people on social media and consider themself informed.
What they don't realize is that the paychecks going to those trusted informants are signed by people that don't give a frick about football, or good journalism, but clicks. If your excellent story got 500 clicks, frick you. If your shithole story gets 30,000 clicks, great job! Keep up the good work!
These cancer Dawg people latch on to certain people they trust and follow, and have no idea they are being lied to every day.

Beck really had no choice but to leave because he wasn’t going to be able to practice up until fall camp and that would put his starting position in jeopardy, although he did look pretty good against Miami. Also, he was going to make a chunk of money and needed a fresh start.
The hating on him from the fans was unfortunate and why wouldn’t you go somewhere you’d be loved vs. having to fight out from under the outcome of last year and building pressure.

I don’t think there are paid people to troll this board. There are definitely paid trolls in politics. I do think there are fake UGA fans on this page. I also think there are just plain miserable people and some with varying levels of mental illness.

I'm of the opinion that 99.999% of the fans on this board are true UGA fans. There's a contingent here who hold the opinion that one cannot be a "true" fan and voice a criticism, no matter how valid. That's proposterous unless there's some rule I'm unaware of that requires this forum to be an echo chamber.

I would like to see Carson Beck have a good season and a good pro career. I think most Georgia players and coaches feel the same.

Jesus, you disney dawgs are something else. Stop pumping all the sunshine up the players asses when they suck it up.
Also, I am a UGA alumni 02' and been donating for 23 years.
I am also try to be unbiased. You all are trying to use extreme language, like "hate" and "cancer" etc. Makes you sound stupid.
No one hated stetson, they hated he threw 2-3 INT's per game vs. Bama.
Time for you all to move on since we all love Stetson and its not a good example.
Beck sucked too and badly. His play on Saturday showed you what exactly against a depleted ND team as a home game. 200 yards is now Heisman?

Nahhh, you want to criticize and not be challenged on the merits or lack there of of your criticism.

Yep. I have no animosity toward the kid. Wish him the best.

Like I've already said, I make it a point not to attempt to reason someone out of a position they used no reason to arrive at. It's a fools errand.
