I guess he will tell us soon how we will go 9-3 in the regular season.

I think Oregon, Tennesse, and Kentucky are the only teams who realistically have a chance to beat the Dawgs due to combinations of coaching staffs and talent.
Getting Oregon first game of the year for us in Atlanta though is big. Dawgs should win that one.
Tennesse at Sanford where I think it's harder for them to run 100 plays.
Kentucky might be the toughest game with return of a really good QB and will most likely be a prime time game on the road.
Honestly, anything less than 11-1 regular season will be disappointing

Why exactly would you think the LBs would struggle. The LB room is loaded.

Plenty of talent. Will miss leadership/experience from Dean, Walker, Tindall.

I did'nt post what you responded to, but I don't think it's unwarranted to suggest the LB play might be a question mark. I do'nt know about "struggle", but I can see them taking some lumps early due to inepxerirence.

sipmly listing every LB on the roster doesn't prove they're loaded.

The issue isn’t the OLB/edge rushers like Smith, Beal, and Sherman.
The issue is supplanting the Dean, Walker, and Tindall ILB production.
Dean: 72 tackles, 10.5 TFL’s, 6 sacks, 2 ints, 5 PD’s, 2 FF’s
Tindall: 67 tackles, 7.5 TFL’s, 5.5 sacks, 1 FF
Walker: 65 tackles, 5.5 TFL’s, 1.5 sacks, 3 PD’s
That’s 3 guys who totaled 204 tackles, 23.5 TFL’s, 13 sacks, 2 ints, 8 PD’s, and 3 FF’s.
And all 13 guys you listed combined didn’t add up to even half those numbers, except for sacks.
Will Mondon, Sorey, Dumas-Johnson, Davis, and Marshall combine for 204 tackles, 23 TFL’s, 13 sacks, and some ints, PD’s, and FF’s?
While it remains to be seen, that’s extremely doubtful.
And it could also be compounded by the fact there’s no Davis, Wyatt, or Walker in front of them on the interior of the DL.
Don’t get me wrong, we’ll still be really good on D. Just probably nowhere close to 2021 good.

Defensive stats like that never tell the entire story.
I would argue that they could reach those stats but the defense could he no where near as effective (if we cant get off the field on 3rd down, we are going to get more opportunities for tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks).

That's a nice nucleus of returning players, but remember, they're losing a ton, plus more DB's again. There's a ton of raw talent coming in, but the experience factor my cause a few bumps in the road. I absolutely expect the 2022 team to compete/win the East. After that, all bets are off.

For the record, Auburn is not rebuilding. They are still in the process of stoking the dumpster fire(may it burn forever). They still have 1-2 years before they fire Harsin and they will have to find a coach willing to come in to a program in a conference not only immediately dwarfed by the two closest neighbors but where every program in the conference towers over them except Vandy and Mizzu. It’s beautiful.

The speed between those 3 guys was insane. 3 ILB’s who all run low 4.5 with crazy high instincts, coverage skills, technique, and football IQ on the field at the same time was a sight we may never see again.
Mondon, Sorey, and Dumas-Johnson have great potential, but probably not reach their peak until 2023 season.

Thinking this won't be a large problem this year.
Returning
Javon Bullard
Christopher Smith
Tykee Smith
Kelee Ringo
All returning. Experienced depth might be a problem,(Which you noted) but that should be taken care of by mid season.
Main thing is our schedule should be easy.
Oregon to start will be a challenge, but they lose a lot of talent.
Then we have
Samford
South Carolina
Kent State
Missouri
Auburn
Vanderbilt
OFF
That gives us plenty of time to build experience and get the kinks out before the second half which is a touch more challenging.
Florida
Tennessee
MState (This one makes me nervous a bit)
Kentucky
GT
Circling back to Oregon....they lose a ton of talent and will be extremely young on both sides of the ball (depending on who they pick up in the portal, of course) and they will have a first time head coach and coaching staff that is new.

It’s going to be extremely hard to replace Lewis Cine. There will be significant falloff in our safety position in 2022.

This 10-2 is the absolute floor.
9-3 would be an astronomical failure

Hence why I always laughed when casuals called JD99 severely overrated.
Didn't rack up stats due to his role, commanding double teams, playing in mostly non-passing situations in mostly blowouts, and not playing very much in the 3rd/4th quarter all year (Again, due to blowouts)

J Davis is probably going to have a awesome NFL career, barring injuries. I think he is gonna excell when/if he gets the chance to play tackle in a 4-3, if he loses a little weight, I can see him developing into a Aaron Donald type player with his size and quickness.

Maybe. I guess it depends on who they decide to put back there. If Tykee Smith goes back there, then I don't think we see a dropoff.
Cine was good, no doubt. Smith was an All American, though. (Second string, I think but All American nonetheless.)
Really hard to tell, though.
I am more worried about the LB position, actually for many of the same reasons some have mentioned on here. The key at our ILB spot is being confident and aggressive. Recognizing plays and going to the proper spot. Dean was excellent at that. If there is any hesitation there you can turn a loss into a big gainer....and if you play decisively and aggressively you turn a big gainer into a loss. Dean was excellent at this and so was Roquan Smith.
It'll be interesting to see who we go to at safety, though, and if we try to put a young guy out there...you would be correct. A significant drop off could be seen.

I am guessing he is referring to some of the other fan bases. They were talking about our DLine was overrated and would be gassed by the second quarter of the National Championship game.
A lot of the Alabama fans criticized Davis for being too big and not playing 4 downs. They ignored the fact that we rotated most of our Dline and kept them fresh.
But yes, you are right. Idiots.
