It’s the final hump we have to get over if we want to make the tourney we have to start closing out these games or it’s going to cost us a ticket to the dance. Do have to wonder how we respond Saturday after blowing another chance

Big game right now. Really need to pull this one out at home. First game I think is a must win to get into the dance. We already beat them on the road and this could get us back on track.

Go Dawgs!

Its on the SEC Network

SC shooting 53% and has us all over the place on D. Not sure we can keep up in the 2nd half. We were aided once again with a ton of 3’s in the 1st half. We’ve seen this happen numerous times. Hopefully we can play a COMPLETE game for once.

I don’t think it’s realistic for Carolina to keep shooting like they have. If they do, I agree with you, they will win.

Definitely feel like we are deeper than them though, which helps us 2nd half…let’s friggin finish a game. Hunker down Dawgs!

Not sure how you can win when you get called for a charge falling back on a 3 point shot.

He kicked his leg out, but I thought the defender ran into it….

Also, same thing is happening as Tenn game. We just can’t seem to defend the paint in the 2nd half

UGA BB is frickin annoying to watch. See all these mid level, sunbelt, AAC teams make it to the tournament and actually have some super star talent at times. UGA can’t even sniff success.

From 3-1 in conference to 4-5 is quite the downer

Yeah, but in at least 3 of them we were in a position to win and collapsed. This year’s team isn’t bad, they’re just frustrating.

That’s kinda my point… could have won 3 of them and flat out CHOKED 2 away. Very frustrating.

It is freustating, there's no doubt about it. I guess if forced to seek out some tiny sliver of a silver lining, it's taht we keep having these losses to really, REALLY good teams. It's not like the crean/fox years where we'd slip up and lose to who the frick knows outta nowhere.

-The 3 games people will point to with blown leads are UT, @UF, and Bama. UT and Bama are 2 of the top teams in the league and are top 10 caliber programs in america, and UF is obviously no slouch. We could/SHOULD have won all 3 but again those are elite teams (at least 2/3 are elite) that we're talking about.
-We're beating the temas we're supposed to whihc is a great to see.
-Despite these frustrations, we DO have a few damn solid wins, most notably on the road @SC which looks better by the week.

Lastly I think it's important ot note that we just went through a hell of a gauntlet that woudl likely trip up most teams that aren't top 10 caliber nationally. I mean look at this stretch:

UT, @SC, @UK, LSU, @UF, Bama, SC

Outside of LSU every one of those teams is going to the tourney and 4 of them are likely high seeds. I mean shite. Now look at the rest of our schedule. We have AU twice which sucks and is 2 nearly certain losses, but we've also got MSU, Arkansas, LSU, Vandy, aTM thrown in there as well.

We are recationary and pissed in the moment due to losing, but it's entirely possible, if not probable really, that we ARE a really good team that has simply faced some nationally ELITE teams for several weeks in a row and simply not had the horses. We aren't making the tourney but I mean we have a very real shot to win 5 or 6 more SEC games.

We are all hoping for that in basketball and baseball.
Or state is rich in talent in all 3 major sports.
Bottom line: it's all about recruiting. We need better players on our basketball and baseball teams to compete at the highest level.
White seems to have the basketball team moving in the right direction but I'm not convinced at this point that we have a chance of making the NCAA tournament.
