I read somewhere that Burton was saying he and JT were a package deal. But, Bama doesn't need an injured QB. Other than that, I've read/heard zero.

I've heard Oregon State or Colorado State.

Now that you mention that, seems I saw a post somewhere with the exact thoughts.

Anybody who takes him needs a solid plan B. Poor kid hasn't put together a full season worth of games in the past 3 years.

Not being able to stay healthy has obviously been an issue.

I saw a mention of Georgia Southern somewhere. I just laughed it off and moved on, though. Just too absurd.

His head coach at USC is the head coach and his quarterback coach at USC is the OC. I think GS would make sense in that regard. It would be a better than Oregon St or Colorado St.

I just don't see what he has to gain from going to GSU aside from being familiar with the coach. He is far, far better than that program and if he's wanting to put out one more season of highlights before going pro he should go to a name P5 school.

I don't know if he has many options. Not mobile and injury prone. Most teams looking for more mobile/athletic guys.

Plus he will be wanting a guaranteed starting job and won't want to compete for a job I'm sure, which limits the options too.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

I agree that he doesn't have his pick of 120 different programs but he can/should definitely be able to walk in and start at SOME p5 program.

Is there a chance he stays back at UGA?
Imagine the hoopla!

I would think somewhere on the left coast would be right for him, to he is from Cali, maybe Cal, Stanford or Oregon might be looking for a talented QB, I wish nothing but the best for him, I hope he goes somewhere he is happy and plays lights out, just not if he plays UGA.

San Diego St to me would be a good fit, they run a pro style offense and tgeir QB graduated.

I think he likes the South hearing him speak with California still living in 2020.

What makes you think that?

The latest rumor mill stirrings are that there have been conversations with Notre Dame, Cal (and as already known, Ole Miss). My read about Ole Miss, by the way, that the interest was a lot stronger on the part of Kiffen, who is trying to make some kind of splash. Don't really see it now, especially with Burton going to Alabama.

The portal stuff doesn't have to be settled until spring and seems there are a lot of moving parts.

Funny thing is that while people say it's 99% that Caleb Williams is headed to USC (from Oklahoma), he has still yet to commit. He was considering a couple of other places still (including UGA). If Williams were to decide he wants to play for a national title contender and dropped Southern Cal, it would be ironic if Daniels went back to his original school.

I'm just not sure there's a spot he's interested in that would be a better option than UGA at the moment, especially if Kirby promised him a truly open QB competition.

Why would JT believe it's truly open though?

Also in the time between the title and stetson announcing his return didn't he make some comments about needing to see if he could "trust the coaches" or somethign like that? he's made several comments about not being given a shot in the past so putting it all together I'm thinkint that stetson announced he was coming back with the assumption that he was more than likely goign to be the frontrunner.

If I'm JT, based on what transpired in 2020 and 2021 I woudl leave too.
