Who the frick are we losing to? All our home games are cake, Ole Miss will be our toughest and they struggled to put away a Tulsa team missing their starting QB. Tennessee will be tough sure but they haven’t looked great either. Florida is awful this year. Lots of teams haven’t looked great this year and we’re blasting the teams we should we just had slow starts

We scored 45 in a game where Brock Bowers had a single catch for 3 yards. O will be fine.

Minimal time for our RB1 and Ladd as well.

Lots of playing time for everybody with time to assess who should be starting. An advantage we needed this year.

Preseason is over.

I don’t get this mindset. Could we lose some games? Sure. Football is a game that is decided play by play…series by series. Kent State and Missouri both scored 22 on us last year and I heard the same talk. We then went undefeated.

But we’ve had two uninspiring opponents, one at noon, and beat each by 40+ points. And I, like you, have watched other games and thought “wow, these teams look really good” but haven’t we learned that how other teams look against each other doesn’t translate into “they’re so much better than we are”? TN looked like a world beater last year until we got them in Athens.

I haven’t seen anything yet that leads me to believe that anyone on our schedule would be a favorite over UGA or that we can’t make another run this year. If anything, the other SEC teams look more vulnerable than in prior years…especially Bama.

Concerns in no particular order:

RB - Milton looks pretty limited to me. He’s not the most explosive guy we’ve had at baseline but looks straight up slow right now. I think it will be good to get Edwards back healthy. He’s pretty slippery as an inside runner which I think would help a lot.

OL - I’m no expert on the fix, but our running game is clearly not up to standard right now. I think some of that is the RBs but clearly need to create more space for them to work with.

QB - Beck’s confidence seems to come and go, but hopefully having more success downfield yesterday will help him. Our WR and TE groups are very good imo, so he should have options. It would also help him if we could more consistently run the ball. He’s also not a great runner and should only do so when it’s completely uncontested.

I think defensively we’re capable of really shutting most teams down. It would be good to create some more pressure without blitzing, but I think we have some guys with that ability. Just have to see it come to fruition.

Beck's QBR in two games at home against inferior competition is 61.1, which is not elite.

We really don’t know what this team is yet and it’s pretty silly to say anything definitive about the team thus far.

It may turn out that you nega-dawgs are right and we just aren’t as good as the past two years.

It may just as easily be that the team is fine and in tune-up games, the coaches are doing the smart thing by holding the dinging up high performers out and messing with personnel packages to find outlets best groups.

Maybe it’s frustrating to watch the process in real-time, but I trust Kirby to find the best in these young men.

I suspect we will be able to tell a little more about this team when the lights shine a little brighter than they have the past two weeks.

I'm not quiterready to panic yet.

Stetson Bennet had QBR's of 61.5 and 68.9 last year against Samford and Kent State respectively.

Let's give Beck a little time.

I thought our offense looked sluggish and uninspired last week, but seemed much more energetic this week. They are coming along. It is much more difficult for an offense to get untracked than a defense. Offenses rely more of timing and it is just more difficult to get going, while defense has set assignments and is more reactionary.

SC is the game in which most of us to expect inspiration, life, and energy. 3:30 game. Rattler coming off an explosive 2 weeks. They have playmakers but an awful O-Line. Kirby will have them up for this game being it’s the conference opener and on national TV/ prime time afternoon game. Can’t wait!

I'm just glad we have these early tune-up games to help our new QB and offense get it together.
On defense, we need to find a way to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
If we do end up in the playoffs vs Texas, our defense better play a lot better than Bama's did last night.

Texas DL continually allowed Milroe to get outside and create opportunities to throw drive-saving passes. But the Bama OL was so fat and slow they had to hold to protect Milroe and penalties beat them.

Agreed. And I have no doubt he will remind them that SC beat us in Athens in 2019. (I think it was 2019) That should inspire them a bit not to take them lightly.

1: Winning 10 games in the regular season is above average. Not elite, but very good. Depending on who and how those games are lost, you can still be a consensus top 10 team.

2: In these first two games there were walk ons rotating in and out as early as the second quarter. We have two receivers filling in running back positions. Imagine if we kept our 1's in for 4 whole quarters in these first two games, and we score 100 in each game. Which, I say, we could have done if we didn't care about injuries or sportsmanship or getting valuable reps for 2's and 3's.

3: I think we'll probably see our 1's in for 3 whole quarters vs SC. And by the 4th Q we'll have pulled away and the backups come back in, and people will say we looked suspect and didn't put up enough numbers when we only really played 3 quarters of football. As of now, after the first 8 quarters of games, I think there's only been 4 and a half quarters of real football.

Furthermore, I predict a mindfrick play with either BVG or Gunner lined up at tailback. Just to make Beamer burn a timeout.

Jesus Christ, when the frick did I become a CHD inspired Disney Dawg? Maybe I haven't changed...maybe it's everyone else.

Maybe it was Richt.

You frickers need to get a grip. This is the best that UGA football will EVER be, and yet here you are.

I'm gonna hold off on the doom and gloom and throwing Bobo under the bus. Guess for all that has transpired, no-one learned a thing from last year or the year before. Need to rename this forum Chickenlittleville.

I think this is lost on many. Literally...this is it. The pinnacle. We have never been higher in our 130 year history than we are at this very moment.

Yet people are having an aneurysm in the first quarter demanding our QB be benched after our 2nd drive in a game we'd win by 42. I'm surprised some of these people didn't kill themselves during the 90s

Most were probably FSU fans in the 90's, and I hope they find their way back to the Seminoles.

I was guilty of demanding more under Richt. I feel vindicated, and I'll be fricking damned if I'm gonna bitch after a 40+ point win where every single available player played in meaningful snaps.

Hell, I'd wager that even CHD himself isn't bitching about this team.

That wouldn't be a bad thing, to have Corn Husker Dawg come and pay us a visit.
