Georgia is favored laying 2.5 points with an over/under of 56.5 points.
After accounting for home field for them vegas modeling has us somewhere around 5.5 points better on a neutral field.
Interesting
Also the possibility the game is played in close to tropical storm conditions

I don't feel good about this matchup at all given our lackluster running game and defensive play.

Our defense came our lethargic and obviously uninspiring and seemed like they didn’t care for the first half.
They gave up like 30 yards total the entire second half. This unit is totally capable of turning it on when it needs to be on under the lights at night in Tuscaloosa.
I’m not excusing what they did in the first half it was pathetic watching them act carefree, but some takes on this board I’ve seen about our defense being shite now are totally overblown

The run game will get better if Frazier is healthy. As for the defense, the ability is there but the execution is inconsistent. They're still missing too many assignments. As the season progresses, I don't think you'll be seeing as many receivers running with a large separation from the nearest defender. I doubt that will be completely fixed by next Saturday, but hopefully improved.
The other problem I see is we don't currently have a guy on the edge who can both keep contain and rush the passer. It would be very nice to have Amaris Williams and Chase Linton healthy and ready to play. We'll have to scheme around that for a while, which I think can be more easily done once the secondary is on the same page.
If we lose Saturday it doesn't change anything IMO. Every SEC team has issues and there will be a lot of "upsets" as the season goes on. Kirby's teams normally get better and this one has a lot of talent and a lot of potential for improvement.

I was convinced we'd win all off-season and up until about 2 weeks ago. I still think we'll win, but I'm definitely not as confident. The fact that the oddsmakers made us the favorite is somewhat reassuring. Tells you that they think that Bama isn't some swinging dick juggernaut team and that they still have some holes in their roster and some question marks.
I was watching some thing on Youtube and Mel Kiper said that Keelon Russell would be his number 1 quarterback right now if he was draft eligible, and the one young Mel Kiper who's always on the show with him nodded and agreed. Their receivers played out of their minds yesterday and were catching everything in the general area.
I don't know if either team has the motivational edge. Bama has the revenge factor, and they'll probably be replaying the Christen Miller belt to arse clip at the team facility all week. But, maybe buttfricking Alabama in the SECCG unlocked some portal and showed our players (and coaches too) that there's no need to be timid and the Bama mystique was all in their heads. I also like how Kirby hasn't had to calibrate the players to get sky high for a game yet this season and lock in all week at practice, so we'll definitely get fully focused and ready to frick shite up Georgia.
My hope is that it's like the Texas game from 2024, minus the retarded Carson Beck part. The defense gets after it, and Georgia fans are like "where's this pass rush been?" The Bama quarterback is still young. That's important to remember. This will be his first really hyped up game against a real defense, and hopefully he has a meltdown and we win 38-14 or 41-13.

If we can get pressure UGA 41 Bama 35
If Russell has all day to throw and becomes Randall Cunningham 2.0 Bama 49 UGA 28

I was encouraged that we left Q Johnson in on third down to russ the passer instead of bringing in one of the freshman. Johnson whooped the left tackle like we've been waiting for and got a good hit on the quarterback on Vandy's first series. Kamauri Brooks might be good one day, but he's not ready yet.
My bold prediction is that we have a Zayden Walker pass rush package this Saturday, and we've had Zayden Walker in the lab and holding him back for this game. Zayden Walker isn't as big as Adam Anderson, but he's the closest thing I've seen to Adam Anderson in terms of being able to close on the quarterback and wreck shite in the backfield.
Also will be interesting to see if Prothro is part of the game plan on offense. Barely seen any Prothro in the last two weeks either. Walker and Prothro are gamechanging talents.

Vanderbilt playing us tough has got to be the best thing wrt team development. I think we have a great team, and will be ready to go come Saturday.

Zayden went at the QB like a missile yesterday, and whiffed when the guy sidestepped. He needs to keep those hips loose.

Looking like there could be some heavy weather in TTown and heard Trump was coming to the game? Since it’s an away game I think the more chaos the better to disrupt the home team.
The under might be interesting.

I don’t think we can take too much away from the Sat game. No team is going to be 100% every single game and I expect Bama at night will be a different animal than Vandy at noon.
