A Riddle... impatient forktard edition

Because Jefferson Dawg in his infinite douchebaggery has decided that promptness is more important that completeness or quality, a riddle must continue with no story line, additional hints, or proofreading... He surely apologizes in advance for any incompleteness or inaccuracies that will be adjusted as soon as possible once recognized.
Without further ado, however, a riddle continues as follows:
8.2.1
5.92.9
63.67.12
12.53.12
12.81.8
35.1.8
14.4.1
4.98.8
29.2.2

62.46.8
31.84.9
7.8.2
16.66.4

76.66.11
39.45.11
36.78.12
3.5.9
17.0.9
44.77.10
Rules as conveyed by the great elders:
1) quality guesses receive a hint
2) the person that solves has to create the next riddle

This riddle sucks.

With the matrices turned sideways, it is the northern landscape view of Mt Yonah from atop the College Avenue parking deck.

frick it... given what you had to go on, I don't hate this as a guess... As often is the case, rig helps carry the dead weight on this board.
You have earned a two way clue:
IX // XXII

I feel like I'm close on this one. Can you tell us what the numbers mean?

Um... if I give you the complete meaning, it will be a hundred thousand miles easier.
Does it help if I say that each number grouping will either correspond to a letter OR to one of two letters that you might have to select from?

Are the . Separating the numbers or a continuation?
Example
12.4.5
12.3.2
Does the 12 mean the exact thing in both lines?

I think this answered my above question.
Can you confirm?

The number 2 appears much more commonly than the other numbers. Is this significant, or random?

Strategy question. Am I better off trying to crack one digit at a time, one line at a time, or one grouping at a time?

In date format, this is Sep / ? / 2022
We play Oregon in ATL on Sep 3. We play Samford in Sanford on the 10th.
Does this tie in to anything?

The dots were just method of visually associating the numbers needed to determine the source and position of the letters. So yes, if connected by dots, they must be used together to identify a letter.
In your example, the 12 does signify the same thing, but the other numbers would cause it to likely lead to another letter in the end.

Coincidental. Or at the very least unintentional.

Is it safe to assume I'm looking at a 3-letter word here?

Yes indeed. Forgot to hit submit on my answer to your strategy question, but this was the direction I was going to point you.
