Since Bobo has quieted all but the dullest of naysayers, I thought it'd be fun to look at some threads from around the time of his hiring.

From main SEC Rant

This one, surprisingly, actually has some really level headed takes to go along with the garbage.

I was on the Bobo train from the beginning

That dude put up 40ppg under Richt and I knew if our D was anywhere near our previous defensive teams, we would still blow out teamS.

My guess on D was we need to keep it to around 14ppg and we would essentially look like the dominate team

Low and behold, we are 40 on O and 14 on D

That is killer...

Not one bad take from Prettyboy in all of those threads.

I can understand the apprehension of those hires.

Bobo didn't exactly set the world on fire at CSU and Auburn, and Searels' line at North Carolina wasn't particularly impressive.

This also comes after the Coley internal promotion that was a total disaster.

With that said, both coaches have been great since they have been here. At some point, fans should place trust in Kirby and the staff when it comes to evaluating coaches and talent.

100pct right about Kirby

Having the best players makes coaches job easier. Those guys were coaching with inferior talent at those other places and that made their job harder. Here at Georgia - a dream job - you not only get to coach the best players but you look good doing it. Its a win win

We have a lot of fans who crawl out of rocks to bitch and then crawl back under when things go well.

And when something changes, they love to creep back out again and bitch. And then crawl back under the rock.

They are pussies. We are surrounded by pussy. And it is isn't even fun. Just sad.

My take posted in the second linked Bobo thread--The threepeat is on. And it is on big time.

Some people looked at the Bobo early days and refused to see that he had improved a lot and was great during the Aaron Murray and Hutson Mason days. Also, Bobo is a great recruiter and loves the university. He likely will help with stability for the OC position because I doubt he leaves quickly.

Looks like I was smart enough to not publicly bitch and moan about a hire that I knew was coming, but did not want.

I also didn't want Searles back.

I'm also not Kirby Smart and owner of back-to-back national championships.

Know what I did want? Beck as the starter. 1 out of three, bitches!

You've been gone a minute.

But you never pussied out on an opinion. Win or lose, you were consistent.

I don't know if these posters are alters? If they have one handle on here daily and another to show their true selves?

Everyone is wrong sometimes. Be a man. Don't disappear. There are several in those threads that only crop up during bitching season.

I guess I didn’t participate. Didn’t really care about this season yet after two in a row.

meansonny- Looks like you and I had a back and forth in one of those threads that didn’t have anything to do with Bobo.

I was wrong that Brock would come out of spring 3rd string and transfer before the season. He may very well be our starter next year, so I would be wrong about that as well.

I think the point of my argument was more to support Beck at a time when a lot of people were “meh” about him taking over. I have been a Beck fan since he got to campus. The kid is a winner. He just isn’t super charismatic. My trying to support Beck somehow led to us arguing about Brock when that was never the intent of my post.

I think everyone can agree Carson was worthy of the support at this point.

I didn't take any of it personally. I hope the same for you.

You and I aren't at practices. We are swayed heavily by what we read on the internet.
Unfortunately, people dig their heels in on one guy and in their head "it can't be anyone else".

I predicted 4000 yards and 38 TDs for Carson this fall. He needs 4 TDs per game to hit that mark. But I don't care. We are scoring 40+ a game. We are leaving Thorson on the sidelines to contemplate what appetizer to order at Outback post game. Outside of the injury tent, a team can't hurt us by taking away any of our weapons.

I thought it was always bitching season?

But seriously, when I left this place some years back, just after Kirby was hired, I was the furtherest from a Disney Dawg. Now, the doom still resides in me but I have allowed myself to bury it deep and actually believe that the program is residing in a Small World After All.

fricking A, if you can't believe in a coach that gives you 2017-2023, what in the actual frick can you believe in?

The only whiff I've seen that Kirby has made (Coley) was quickly corrected. It took Richt 8 years to fire Martinez.

I won't (publicly) question Smart...

What's funny is that earlier today, I would +1 a post that was good.
But I had already done so in the thread the first time around. It didn't change the tally.

Until I came to your 4 posts, "Jesus Christ".
Somehow I missed all of those earlier.
They cracked me up. Well done. +1

I seem to recall our offense was really humming with Bobo. Alot of folks were really upset he left. Alot said if he wouldn’t have left, Richt probably would have coached longer. History would have been altered and never happened. He has tons of talent and will be ok.
