If my calculations are correct, the lowest we can drop is 5th.

Vandy, Arkansas, and Mississippi State obviously.

Ole Miss is 15-10. Even if they lose tonight and tomorrow, they can still get to 18 wins with a sweep at Tennessee next week.

LSU is 15-12, and could tie us if we were swept, but we have the tiebreaker over them, and then you have Missouri and Texas A&M at 13-12-1, so they could only get to 17-12-1.

We tied last year’s win total and have one of the worse teams in the conference at home to end the year. Hay definitely not in the barn yet but I like where we stand.

i think we finish in second

still not happy we drew mississippi state at the wrong time injury wise. could have won the conference outright under different circumstances

That’s baseball. Still, take 2 of 3 from Bama this weekend and we are exactly where we need to be and will have managed to improve on last year’s final record. Hoping to see this team take the tournament seriously with the arms we have this year

Would probably go Oregon State at 10, so we would be matched up either with Oklahoma State or Miami, and I would bet we get either North Carolina or North Carolina State sent to Athens IF North Carolina doesnt get a regional host. If North Carolina hosts, I see NC State going to East Carolina, and that would open up a west coast/north east/midwest team to come to Athens(Arizona State, UCONN, Indiana).

Dawgs just have to win one game this weekend to lock in a first round bye for Hoover.

Would also mean becoming only the 3rd team in school history to reach 40 wins during the regular season (2001 and 1990 being the other teams)

Will be Wilcox, Locey, and Hancock pitching in that order for the series

Locey Saturday and Hancock Sunday pretty much means Striklin is punting the SEC Tournament, just like last year when we went 0-2 and then carried the pants shitting into the regional against Duke.

Our first game will be Wednesday, so Im guessing Elliott will start, and then Thursday Im guessing Wilcox? I doubt Hancock even pitches next week.

It’s actually Locey on Friday and Hancock Saturday because of the rotation getting jacked up after Hancock and Smith’s injuries and the series starting tomorrow.

But, yeah, Elliott would pitch Wednesday and likely Wilcox on Thursday. From there, though, it could actually play to our advantage having our two best arms on the back end and then we have Smith who is due back that week.

I just don’t want to see us get blown out in game 1 again by an 11 seed. Show some sign of life

Yeah, the good thing this year is that we have some of the best starting pitching depth in the nation, but it worries me that we will be playing a Florida or Tennessee that will be playing to get into the NCAA Tournament, and we will be sleepwalking without our two best arms.

You are right though, if we get through those first two games, we could potentially have Hancock for the championship game against probably the third or fourth best pitcher from whoever we play.

Speaking of, Hancock just became the first UGA starting pitcher to ever be named a Golden Spikes semifinalist and only the 4th player period (Beckham, Fields, and Poythress are the other three).

Florida I’m not too concerned with because I think they’re in the tank with their youth. But Tennessee and Auburn scare the hell out of me with their pitching.

Strick said Maxwell is in the lineup this weekend unless Maxwell says he can’t go

Webb will be out tonight due to a death in the family but will be back tomorrow

Confirmed the rotation for Hoover will be Elliott, Wilcox, Locey, and Hancock in that order

Said if Vandy drops an early game to kentucky this weekend and UGA can win at least the first two, Dawgs are still in contention for the SEC title

There’s not but just putting it out there. Baseball is a weird sport and Kentucky is fighting for their postseason life with a bona fide first round ace
