This fricking sucks so much.

I’m so sick of bean counters and corpos trying to suck the soul out of CFB, it’s regular season.

Literally every fan I’ve seen is against this and they don’t give a frick, moving forward with it anyway.

Just so they can make more money for the conferences and networks, mediocre coaches can keep their jobs and get their bonuses by saying “I made the playoffs!,” and the injuries can pile up even more than are now when most sec teams are dealing with major injuries after only 6 games.

Everytime they do this they make CFB worse. The BCS was the best. The 4 team playoff was almost just as good. The 12 team playoff has been better than I hoped it would be as someone who was against expansion.

It’s like they’re trying to push it as far as they can to break it completely

All that money being made by the schools and tuition keeps going up. None of this profit is for the benefit of students.

Agreed. They arent going to stop.

The big 10 and SEC with gobble up whatever are the most valuable properties left to each get to 20 teams.

Then theyll eventually find a way to cut out everyone else and 40 teams will be your top level of CFB playing in divisions of 5 in a AFC NFC style structure.

UGAA donates $5M to the university every year.

That number hasn't kept up with inflation. Or rising revenues.

But it isn't true to say that the university and students aren't benefitting.

We should publicly shame all the losers responsible for destroying this wonderful sport. Bunch of loser whoring lawyers.

The big beneficiares are all the student athletes in programs that don't generate enough money to sustain themselves. But that has always been the case.

Great point.

We used to have 2 programs run their budgets in the black.
I presume that is down to 1?

How do they benefit? $5M every year towards what? I'm sure students would rather have a tuition reduction than a chemistry building or an addition to the Butts-Maher building.

Tuition doesn't go up that much. It's the additional costs for housing and student fees that are through the roof. I was paying more for room and board for my kid at Kennesaw than HOPE was paying for tuition.

Inflation hits housing and food prices whether we are college students or not.

It's not inflation making college housing costs go up. They can't significantly raise tuition because of HOPE so they require students to live on campus and raise the costs of room and board to absurd amounts.

Did you ask them to not live on campus?

They told us yes.

HOPE has actually led to increased tuition because people aren’t actually coming out of pocket.

When fans were complaining the 4 team playoff was cheating their team out of the playoffs and demanding more games, I said we would regret the expansions. I said it should go no higher than 8 teams, but here we are with 12. I said then it would expand like the basketball playoffs and here we go. This is run by the same gang of fools that puts 68 teams in March Madness.

So one team at the bottom of the Top 25 isn't going to make it, every year. Retarded.

Making the CFP used to mean something, Now, the GTs and Northwesterns of the world are going to be crowing about how they made the 24 team field one year.

Needs to change from SEC title game to sec wildcard game and let the last two teams in contention play for the spot in the playoffs.
