It would be dumb to turn down a prospect like Curtis. UGA turned down Sayin to hold out for Raiola a few years ago and should learn from that

After seeing Curtis' highlights I'm feeling great about him becoming a Dawg.

Who is the baby in the Jared Curtis commitment video? He tells the girl to wipe the baby's mouth like he's the father, she complies instantly, but Google AI says he is not a father.

Who that baby is?

I’m seeing $2.5M the first year with escalating salaries for years 2 and 3. $8-9M for a HS OL is insane money.

Obviously still got to see where he commits, but at some point people have to just admit that UGA isn’t paying market rate for top OTs rather than framing it as every other top school overpaying. Top prospects just cost a lot at that position.

They don't pay market rate for anyone. Kirby does a remarkable job getting kids to sign at a discount. Apparently, Curtis' NIL is worth less than $1M.

I suspect that was aided by a softening of the HS QB market, but nothing really to back that up. I just know that programs have to be getting second thoughts about paying big $ to HS QB who are more likely to bust or transfer than they are to start for your program.

I think getting discounts on defensive players is probably sustainable for UGA. I highly doubt it is for top OTs, unfortunately. The dollar amounts get a lot larger at that spot and the discount delta required is probably too high to be realistic. If a LB is deciding between $500k and $400k (20% discount), that’s probably a realistic win for UGA. I don’t think that discount is realistic for an OT being offered $2M elsewhere.

Miami won't keep it up for long. Small private school with some money but not Insanely wealthy like Texas schools.

Enjoy playing in front of 10k fans versus Wake Florist sissy boy.

With you. By year 2 when Miami has fired another coach, he will enjoy small time football in the ACC. Clearly ran from real competition.
