Saw that earlier… We also got a CB for Khani Rooths, a high 4 star borderline 5 star kid. Mike putting in work for sure…

Been a while since I posted in here. Been looking at the recent recruiting bellyaching and felt the need to chime in.
If you look at the historical rankings for UGA recruiting, the biggest impact guys aren't typically the top 20 (aside from Jalen Carter) over past couple years. It's the guys that are 20 - 200 that we do a good job of evaluating and developing. So when people inevitably flip, we lose out, etc...as long as we end up in top 3-4 as a team, I like our shots in developing and elevating our players.
Basically...we will evolve to make sure we get future top 20 players with $$$$$$. But more importantly, barely anyone has developed the culture and development pipeline to turn them into monsters like we have, so rivals getting these players doesn't mean they will be the players they are with us.
If we lose the next big recruiting battles then I'll be pissed, but I'm confident we will figure it out as a team as long at the group is still in top 3/4.
TLDR: Sky isn't falling. I'm not worried. In Kirby we trust.

D’wan Mathis is in the portal again. Hard to believe all that’s happened since he got the start over Stetson to start the 2020 season.

Nice.
Gators have lost a handful of blue chippers in the past week or so.

He’s not a high four-star player. He’s the 25th ranked player in GA and the 27th ranked DL in the country.

Depends on who you're asking.

GA 13
Good enough for me

Most people use on3 or 247composite when talking about rankings. Then there are those who use whatever ranking has a player highest when it comes to a recruit who committed to their favorite school.

In the composite rankings Johnson is the No. 3 ranked defensive tackle in the country that's 300 pounds or above, so that's obviously a good thing.

Agreed, but it’s even more impressive when he does it with recruits that weren’t highly ranked.

Not really. They were on him hard from Day 1 and we slow played him, plus we told him he could play WR (his preferred position) last minute. Why would you go somewhere you know didn’t want you and if they took you, you were a backup plan?

Been dead in here, guess I'll drop something. New Rivals 250 is out. CB Ondre Evans moved up 148 spots to #86 on Rivals. RB Chauncey Bowens droped 40 spots to 103. DT Nazir Johnson debuts for the first time at #134. He could end up being a Composite top 100 DT.
Sacovie White debuts at #187.
