I'll never complain of special teams scholarships. Too many games (including ours) have been lost the last few years after a shank punt or missed gimmee field goal. For the most part, this has been an asset for us not a liability but flipping the field or ability to pin deep is huge.

Could also be because we only see it when there’s one playing against us, but does it seem like the Aussie punters rarely shank a punt at all. Wonder if it has to do with the mechanics of that type of kick.

Yea I rarely see those guys shank and as good as Camarda has been he's had some bad moments in our biggest games (UF right before half,LSU in the SECCG and Texas) All those mistakes led to 7 points and the one against UF pretty much sealed the game for em.

Didn’t Camarda shank late against Notre Dame and against Cincinnati too?

He shanked against Cincinnati trying a rugby style punt, something he doesn’t do at all.
Why the hell he picked then to try it, I’ll never understand.

It happens when he is rushed.
Send pressure in his face and it happens quite frequently.

Don't remember ND but he did have a bad shank in the Peach Bowl that also led to a Cincinnati TD.

IIRC he shanked just before ND’s last drive. I remember everyone in my section saying the same thing: “here we fricking go again”

Some of those Aussie football kids are good athletes. The whole rollout punt gives coverage more time to get down the field., but I think it gives more opportunities for fakes as well. As of yet, have not seen a good counter to them yet as far as defending them goes.
This kid is already 21, has good size at 6’2” 215, and is a good passer. I see a lot of fakes in our future.

Why has Gunner Stockton's rating dropped in all the recruiting services? His composite rakings dropped 22 spots.

Dawgredation of Gunner's scores. It's the opposite of a Bama Bump

ESPN dropped him a bunch of spots. ESPN rankings are horrible so I'd take it with a grain of salt. 247 are really the only ones that matter, rivals are okay.

He dropped in 247 rankings also.

Ah didn't realize that. Oh well, it's just a ranking at the end of the day.

Currently Dawgs have more composite top 100 recruits (7) than anyone else. Ohio St is second with 6.
