Again. Just my opinion. Nobody has to get all upset.

Who is getting upset DL? Just challenging the thought.

Aside from disagreeing in principal, generally, not a great look to start predicting what players might look to go to the portal from our own team anyway... just a thought. I know you don't do it out of a negative place, but just think about how it reads to a current or prospective dawg.

And therein lies the problem of a message board. Sometimes I read an incorrect tone in peoples post. It is absolutely legitimate to challenge a thought process.

I doubt any current or prospective players read our board. I would be surprised if they had time, but who knows, really.

Absolutely.

And by the way...thanks for getting the recruiting thread up and running.

Over the last couple of weeks crystal balls have been trickling in for Julian Humphrey. He commits tomorrow around noonish, I think.

He was a former commit to Florida.

Title updated to reflect that Humphrey picked Georgia. He's really good. Can possibly be as good as Ringo. Doesn't hurt that he decommitted from Florida awhile back. We keep putting the dagger into Florida's heart.

For those who follow the recruiting closely, questions about two commits:

Jacob Hood - Listed at 6-8, 347. 3 star OT. Got curious and watched highlights of him playing right tackle. Noticed several plays where he literally tosses a DL to the ground. He mows over people pretty well. But it's high school football in small town TN. The guy is like a giant out there. Looks like he's got to lose weight. What's the thinking with this guy? A project? The next Trent Brown after a couple of years of S&C?

Cole Speer - His only other offers were Army, Gardner-Webb, East Carolina and Jacksonville State. Is this another McConkey miracle or is Kirby taking a flyer and going to wind up with primarily a special teams contributor? (Wasn't McConkey at least offered by UT and another big program?)

Otherwise, this class could very well be legendary, especially since we're still only at 22 commits.

Yes. He will need some developing, but that is not a problem. We have depth there that can take over at tackle and keep the seat warm until he is ready. He is big and strong. Just needs some work.

Speed to burn. We need a pure speed guy. If he pans out I am hoping to have an Arian Smith type player. I am curious what others think. Sorter answer would be yes...something along the lines of McConkey. Undervalued guy.
