I hated losing Sherrer as well. He did well recruiting South Ga. kids. Although it really shows how well Kirby's hires have been with Lanning taking that spot. Lanning is 15 years younger than Sherrer and hopefully sticks around a few more years. He should be getting a nice raise in a couple of days.

And now Chris Rumph leaves UTk for a NFL job.

Sorry for littering this thread, but there isn't any '20 recruiting news

Looks like another Auburn grad will coach the DL at UTk. Jimmy Brumbaugh, Mel Tucker's DL coach at Colorado, is expected to make the move to Knoxville. He's got some good ties in the Southeast.

In "there's nothing to see here" news-

Muschamp might be hiring Erik Kimrey. Kimrey coached Huntley and Burch at the Hammond School in Columbia, SC. Hammond won state in the Pop Warner division in South Carolina.

Kimrey, by NCAA rules, would have to be hired as an on-field coach.

I'd like to have Kimmery's high school job if he does that.

Shelton Felton likely to replace Rumph at UTk. Felton was head coach at Crisp County and worked under Rush Propst at Colquitt County.

Felton leaving Crisp helped a lot

Fulmer, Pruitt, Felton.....

Wonder if Jay Johnson and Tyson Summers stay, follow, or go elsewhere?

Jay up for a promotion maybe? He's been a HC I think.

He's never been a HC, but Johnson and Summers have 2 years left on their contracts, so it's possible JJ gets the gig. Probably not many other options available.
