Bizarre signing. Does not bode well for B Jones and SZP remaining in the class.

Why? We lost Braun. He replaces Braun.

Seeing multiple places that Stroud has not signed a LOI and sent it to tOSU.

And Burch isn't signing today either.

Why? Because it NC52 and all he does is bitch and moan or preach doom and gloom. Go look at his post history. He’s in a perpetual bad mood.

The correct number of OL prospects to sign was 4.

Pittman had clearance to sign 5 since he got 5 really good guys on board.

Once Pittman left, we lost Braun, and that brought us back down to 4.

Since that time, we have received commitments/signatures from Devin Willock and Austin Blaske, both of whom are extreme reaches and are unlikely to turn into SEC caliber players.

We aren’t signing 6 OL, so that leads a rational mind to the conclusion that at least one of our current, unsigned commits is heading elsewhere.

You keep saying this, and it may have been our preference, but there are plenty of permutations that have frick all to do with losing a current commit.

Additionally, has anyone confirmed whether Blaske is coming on scholarship? I'm seeing some back channel stuff floated around that it may be a PWO thing? By no means is that confirmed...

He is coming in on scholarship. He may be a blue shirt, but whether he counts against 2020 or 2021, it still makes no sense to me.

Or we could have attrition with a lot of Pittman’s guys going pro, or leaving Athens so we need to sign 6? Who knows if Condon and Ericson hang around?

Yeah. I'm not saying it seems "normal"... But as of right now also not hearing any real lack of confidence in landing Jones though AU is certainly trying to keep it interesting, SVP is another animal altogether. In Louisiana and no more Pittman make me skeptical he sticks around despite general confidence in keeping him from most insiders at this time.

The problem is that even if we have guys going pro, the reaches we are bringing in are unlikely to ever be contributors. We have chilled away guys like Corey Wren to make room in the class. It makes no sense to fill it with guys that are extremely unlikely to ever make an impact.

I will say I like the NC State guy way more than Willock. IMO he has potential

Arian Smith > Corey Wren as a likely contributor. I don't see us taking two of those type guys in the same class.

I'd rather recruit a 5 or high 4 star guy who doesnt work out than a 3 star guy who doesnt work out.

That said... a 6'5" 280 pound tackle is something that we could have used this season (6th lineman, HBack). This guy is athletic, moves well (compared to 320 pound guys isnt that much or a reach) and could be a missing piece to us attacking the perimeter more.

He is rated higher than Stokes, Herrien, Kindley, Camarda, Blankenship, Crowder. JR Reed. Eli Wolf. (6 starters for 2019).

Again... I'd rather miss on the high 4 star. But this guy does bring something that we dont have but needed this season.

Doom and Gloom folks need to go kick dirt. Kirby has a #4 class currently with only 19 recruits. We are right at the cusp of 300 points on 247 and ahead of LSU and we have 5 spots left. It appears Ringo has already signed with us today, and will announce later based on hints from some of the 247 folks.

We are going to have a class over 300 points again and fill a shite ton of needed spots. Washington is most likely a Dawg, and we have the option to possibly pickup Gibbs since he decided not to sign today.

Who is Gibbs?

Oh! Jahmyr. Thought we were long out of that one. I'd love to pick him up. Like him much better than Tank personally. But my thoughts on Tank are no secret at this point.

I didn't realize we could lose him, although it's recruiting and sh*t happens. If we could keep him and Jones, you can be anything but extremely happy with that OL class.

Ringo and Washington have both tweeted out hints that they signed today. Haven't heard anything for sure on Washington, but Ringo was hinted to be a Dawg by 247 staff. Also Kirby made the comment to media today that staffing change considerations would be made after the Sugar Bowl.
