As a high school junior, Zirk's field goal would have been good from 68 yards in the video link above.

TLDR:

UPDATE: On 6/12/19 Georgia offered Jared Zirkel and he verbally committed. Early June 2019 Jared won both UGA and UTSA kickoff competitions with impressive distance and hang times in the range of 75 / 4.2, with even a couple absolute bombs in the 4.4 range – which is better than many kickers in the NFL.

On 4/23/19 Jared hit a 70 yard FG off the crossbar during a private lesson. Jared had a dominating kickoff performance at our 2018 National Showcase besting the entire field of 61 and winning both days’ charting and elimination events with multiple kickoffs over 80 yards and 4.0+ seconds, with a whopping average of 75.2 yards / 3.9 seconds.

He also finished tied as runner-up on Day 2 FG hitting a 60 yarder during the double-elimination competition and making it to the final 3. Jared is 1 of 11 2018 All-Americans, making AA Punter and Hon Mention Kicker pinning 18 of 44 punts inside the 20. On 9/7/18 Jared kicked a 59 yard FG in game and was also 9/9 kickoffs for touchbacks in their dominating win.

As a Freshman Jared was kicking 55+ yard field goals and kickoffs in the end zone! He’s now 6’3, stronger, and is absolutely crushing automatic touchbacks. He’s performed well at each of our events and was the youngest prospect added to our List at that time. He now kicks his field goals off the ground and gets tremendous power with the ability to hit 68 yards.

He has perhaps the strongest leg in the country. August 12, 2018 he won all 3 events at our Austin event against 30 kids from across TX. Jared won the Texas A&M kickoff competition (74 / 4.2 KO), and KW Dallas FG Competition in July. June 17-18, 2017 he was hitting kickoffs 70+ yards, 3.9 seconds and even hit an 80-yard kickoff.

2017 Showcase – Jared was #1 overall on kickoffs hitting one at 70 yards, 3.92 seconds; with brand new balls. Kickoff wise, he can easily beat the majority of current FBS kickers. Freakish leg strength. SCHOLARSHIP WORTHY KICKER who can also punt well.

70 yard FG

Take this with a grain of salt but kendall milton is in Athens, and he deleted all his photos of other teams except ours

FWIW, he did the same thing on his visit to LSU last weekend.

This guy reminds me of another 5 star RB, Richard Samuel. Strong, athletic, decent straight line speed (4.76), but has a tendency to run upright, has stiff hips, and if a defender hits him at or below the waist he goes down like a sack of potatoes.

Watch some of his real game videos on youtube (instead of the accelerated highlight videos on hudl and youtube). If he has some upfield space and can get up to speed, he's fine. If he needs to make something happen, he looks like an average high school RB.

I have a good feeling we will land a top RB because of our OL recruiting and our OL recruiting

Far be it from me to agree with WD but I feel like Milton is not exceptional relative to the class... Evans feels like the only one who really rises above... Won't be sad if we get Milton but am also not overly impressed. Ultimately I defer to Kirby and Dell who will forget now than I'll ever know...

I do think the kid out of Cartersville committed to Tech is pretty special, even if he needs to put on weight... (Gibbs?)

I really liked marshawn Lloyd. I hated that he committed to SC, and would love it if we could flip him. Speed, vision, balance and power.

I also agree with you about Evans. He is head and shoulders above everybody else....except, imo, Lloyd.

I got crucified on the old rant for saying the same things about Samuel before he ever stepped foot on campus. He turned out to be a DGD, but was never more than barely serviceable as a RB except in that one shining moment against UF.

Richard Sameul was a 5* "athlete" that could have been a 5* linebacker but was really a 3* running back. Been a while so I can't remember the specifics of exactly why we forced him to play RB but I think everyone at the time knew he was much better suited to be a LB.

You’re right WG...probably should have been at LB from the start...but I remember folks slobbering all over him before he got to campus as a RB because of that 4.4 speed.

That and then he had that long arse run against MSU that looked like Herschel. Easy to judge in hindsight though.

And it looks like we responded very differently than they did

Because we said “take it with a grain of salt” and no one overreacted.

Go look at that thread. It’s funny

Samuel had that series to seal the Florida win a few years ago but not much else notable.

He had an 80 yarder against Arky in that wild game in Fayetteville when Cox was the QB.
