I am actually impressed at their reaction. Nowhere near the breakdown I expected.

And we have found Pickens' tutor!

Needed a TE

Did we really "need" one though? It certainly helps, but we had Goede coming in (off the ACL, so not an immediate contributor, but could have been depth by midseason probably if not earlier), Fitzpatrick and Woerner on the roster, and a room full of OL that can be brought in for blocking duty where tipping our hat isn't a big deal. As of yet, no one has any idea what Coley's primary formations may be... Could be a lot of single TE looks, in which case we were likely fine.

It's not a bad pickup, just seems like a reach in response to losing Ford along with Nauta... is what it is. Just hope that it doesn't handcuff us in 2020 when evaluating who we are bringing in - in what will very likely be a smaller class.

meh, that must be it for this class then. Not really thrilled we offered a scholly to a three star but it is what it is.

The fact that the Dawgs were battling Bama for Seither should speak for itself.

5* TE Arik Gillbert(sp?) from Marietta HS will be a huge priority for Dawgs in 2020.

Florida's top recruit, Chris Steele, would be the 8th highest player on our board per 247 composite: something to think about with the gators getting mouthy

Or it speaks to the fact that he was the only TE left on the board.

aaron donald
Von Miller
Michael Crabtree
Baker Mayfield

or how about

Dominik Sanders
Quincy Mauger

or

Deandre Baker

what a dumb statement by you eh?

Obviously 3*s don't normally turn out as well as 4 and 5*s do, but arguably our best defensive recruit last year was Jordan Davis, a 3*.

I'm just gonna trust Kirby, even if/when I don't necessarily agree with him if that makes any sense

Mel Tucker going to finish top 6 in PAC his first year....with 20 recruits.

To be fair, outside Oregon (who pulled a very very nice class), the PAC is looking rough

They are academic and need based only no athletic money. So he might not have gotten enough to make it worth it vs a full academic ride to UGA.

Yes. Two returners is razor thin.

Agreed. Woerner is also the only guy that's played. Along with the other freshman TE coming in having torn up is ACL, dawgs 100% needed another TE. Good move

Wow, you're like some sort of genius. Nice job proving that sometimes there are exceptions to a rule/trend. Now everything has changed! Man, I never knew that 3 stars could possibly be productive players one day.

Listening to interviews with Pickens and he's actually quite articulate for a guy his age. Proves to me that he's got a good head on his shoulders, and gives me hope he can qualify.

I guess sarcasm isn't understood, so I'll be direct.

Yes, there is a probability that a 3 star could be good but it's statistically less likely than a 4 star being good.

Therefore, I prefer 4 stars because there's a higher chance they hit than miss relative to 3 stars. Also, grass is green.

It speaks to exactly what it was... limited options in a light TE class with a lot already signed and a surprise "need" for us... Envision the scenario... it's late... the bar is almost closing... most of the girls have already gone home... there's a couple of ladies chatting a chubby 3 and a homely 6. That 6 starts looking pretty damn good.

I still maintain that it wasn't a true "need", but ultimately that's why Kirbs is paid millions and I have a very good but not that good paying job in technology. If he feels it was worth it, he's got access to more info than I do... Doesn't change my opinion, but hopefully Seither will do it on the field. I'd love nothing more than to eat that crow.
