Losing emery stinks...and I am still not sure wtf happened other then LSU beating us in BR...
UGA is RBU...please tell me there is something else going on to have emery commit to fricking Ed O then UGA lol.

This. Almost 10 years ago, didn't we start Carlton Thomas for a game because Washaun Ealy and Caleb King were injured/suspended for weed?
There is no such thing as too many RBs, and any recruit who understands UGA football get it. If they're good, they'll see the field. If Emery doesn't want competition, then at least he's honest about it. Better than taking up a scholly and then transferring out, all butthurt because he's not starting as a true freshman.
Kirby has more than proven that the talented play.

Isn't the rumor that his girlfriend is pregnant? If that's true, it had to play a role.
Sucks, but it is what it is. Close out strong and one thing I can promise you is that Georgia will figure out the RB position one way or another.

I hate rumors, but some connected people on 247 continue to reference a “family situation” led him back to LA. There is speculation he has a kid on the way. No clue if that’s true or not, but that’s what is being tossed around.
I know his dad preferred UGA but mama wanted him close to home. He’s a special RB. I think he’s better than Sanders and will be a 1st round pick in 3 years. Tough loss for sure

No need for sour grapes. We’re stacked at RB.
It wasn't sour grapes. I'd have loved to have Emery. But, his dad said there are "obvious problems at UGA". I'm not aware of any obvious problems for any RB except for the two I listed. Emery was clearly a take, so the "problem" was most likely #2 . UGA is currently stacked at that position, as you point out.

McIntosh just committed

Don’t get this logic. We don’t know what we have in Zeus. We have two feature backs with different skill sets. Aside from that we have role players. I think we are dangerously thin in light of our injury luck at RB.
And next year, LSU has no one that Emery won’t beat out. He and Davis could start splitting carries right away. It’s close to home, he was in BR when they whooped us, and even though there are many reasons he could end up here, he feels like there are more he should be in BR.
We just sound kind of bitter as a fan base.

I feel like I’d be far more enthralled with McIntosh if we didn’t have Emery first
But very importantly, he did score multiple times from the 1 yard line in his film so our coaching staff might be in shock watching his film
Top 250 RB. Not what we’re used to, but so many programs would love to get a player of that quality. Shows how spoiled we are and I’ll keep the faith when it comes to Dell recruiting that position.

Can anyone enlighten this or is it negative recruiting from other schools making him say this?

Can someone also link me to where he said that?

He is depth, mainly, imo. I think we are in it for a couple of backs next year that are to ranked backs...Zach Evens, Kendall Milton, Tank Bigsby, and probably a couple of others. Since we probably won't lose anybody this year, I think any RB we take is to give depth in case White can't go next year. We'll be fine at RB. I can't blame the coaches for taking a RB, though.
It's better to have a RB and not need him, than to need a RB and not have him. That said, Emery most definitely would have played here.

Seems like I saw something like that in the newsletter, but I can't remember whose column it came from. I'll see if I can find it.

We just lost a 5 star RB and the best one in this class....why the frick would we not be bitter? And all of this to a team we lost to and 100% should not have.
Im salty for sure lol

Sorry. I couldn't find where he said that. I read so much it's hard for me to remember if I read it on here or if I saw it in the newsletter. The, with the newsletter being 30+ pages sometimes, it is a lot to go through.

You know how I know UGA fans have gotten spoiled?

Emery to LSU just makes sense. They are losing their top rusher from this season and will be lacking quality depth at the position in 2019. This was also an important year for LSU to show that their football program is not regressing, and they've proven that thus far.
Losing him sucks, but we aren't exactly lacking at the position right now and won't be for years to come. We're RBU.

There was a discussion about the interview on 247 board a week or two ago. The interview was behind a paywall but the comments referenced that remark. What his father meant wasn't clear.

Our running back Depth Chart will have
White
Swift
Holyfield
Cook
next year, landing a 5 star into that was going to be tough. This add is a perfect depth guy and could eventually earn carries down the road. It's one of our better positions on the team.

Exactly. RB class is loaded next year, so expect us to land two elite guys.
Running back was a luxury position in this cycle. Would have been a great coup to grab Emery, but it wasn't meant to be.
Swift, Holyfield, White will be the best group of backs in the country next year.
