I wouldn't worry too much about it. We all read things and process it differently. Sometimes we take a positive spin and sometimes we take a negative spin.
It's all good that we can have checks and double checks on here so we don't get too carried away one way (Too positive) or the other(Too negative).

More good news.... Keith Niebuhr flipped his CB for Quay Walker....now says Dawgs!

If we snag Walker, Campbell, Reese...it would be the greatest UGA class of all time
Posted on 2/6/18 at 3:19 pm to Sandwich
That might be the greatest class of all time anywhere. Think this is already the best UGA class of all time.

That has already happened, ranking-wise

It's already well past the best UGA class of all time. This class seriously has the opportunity to be the best in the history of keeping up with recruiting!
PSA: Go check out Alabama's recruiting thread....It's meltdown central.

Probably not. In 2010 Florida got 324.62 points. I think that is tops. I don't think under the best of circumstances we will be able to hit that. Close, though.
ETA
Alabama had 323.87 last year. That would would be tough to reach, too.

Just did the numbers. If we signed Quay Walker, Tommy Bush, Otis Reese, Tyson Campbell, Davis and Walthour
we would only reach 323.31. That's signing one player over what we anticipate signing. ( I did not check with Sandidge in any combination)
ETA
I did try to drop our lowest rated player (Walthour, say if he did not qualify) and we picked up Sandidge, we would end with 324.19. But keep in mind that is signing one player over what we expect to sign.
Just interesting to look at, and that is an almost impossible situation where everything just fell juuuuust right.

I added Walker and Campbell to the class calculator and we were over 319. Davis and Walthour are already figured into those numbers.

Keep in mind the only reason Alabama's class last year was that high was they took 29 guys in total.
Similarly, the really good UF class was 28 kids. If UGA ends up at 320ish with 25 or 26 signees, it may not "officially" be the best class ever, but for all intents and purposes it is. Not to mention that 247 literally revamped the rankings in January in order to stir up controversy going into NSDII... There was no logical reason behind many of the drops that our signees took.
ETA: Pretty sure I ran the class calculator *before* the re-ranking, and it put us out at a 324.9ish? Operating on memory... but pretty sure that was with me adding the expected Davis, Walthour, and then Walker, Bush, and Campbell... it *might* have included me leaving Walthour out and adding Sandidge, but I don't think so.

When you factor in Chuck Norris being added to the class, after his commitment earlier....it would make the score 1,329.82.....

Which points out that our average per player is higher than Alabama's was last year. Good point.
Any way we slice it, we are having a great class, even if we don't have the bestest ever.

It's a great class. As I was going over past year classes, I noticed some teams came away with #1 classes with sub 300 numbers, which boggles my mind now. I am guessing that tells us that the talent was spread out among more teams, or at least the top teams were closer.

The amount of 5 stars and high 4 stars that Kirby is putting together is insane.
Potentially six 5 stars.
8 players ranked .98 or better
13 players ranked .94 or better (high 4 stars).
in our great 2017 class:
three 5 stars
3 players ranked .98 or better
9 players ranked .94 or better (high 4 stars).

It’s pretty crazy to see those numbers. By all accounts, 2019 could be better than 2018. Opposing fans will never admit it, but Kirby is building a monster and will be competing t a high level for years to come. Exciting times
