It's getting retarded on the 247 board right now. Everyone and their mother is saying they have sources now. I just rejoined a month ago, but that board is awful.

The board overall is terrible. But I'm enjoying these tasty sauces (even if they're imaginary and/or may make me shite my pants later on).

I'm not 100% sure but I think that's SAVED that has been on the board for a long time and usually has legit info...people are saying that he is an old poster with a new name

The fact remains its recruiting. We don't know shite 75% of the time. We may or may get Fields, who knows? But to say he is a lock at this point it just homerism. The draw to AU has to be huge considering he is the absolute perfect fit for their offense and doesn't have 2 5 star pocket passers in front of him.
Don't get me wrong UGA> AU everyday and twice on Saturdays, but at this point, this shite is still very much up in the air.
I do hope that the family love of GA and his sister and the proximity to their city will win him over in the end, but will ti be enough?

That sounds very convincing. Why don't you send him a tweet and tell him how great Auburn is. Or, maybe Fields doesn't think Auburn is an "absolutely perfect fit". Maybe he wants to learn how to be a passer who can run, instead of runner who throws. Maybe he's noticed that Malzahn doesn't have a very good track record developing high school quarterbacks, or any track record for that matter. That's why Gus keeps going after transfers, to bypass kids who haven't progressed under his training
Cam Newton spent 75% of his college career learning how to be a quarterback from someone not named Malzahn. Nick Marshall got drafted as a defensive back after his time at Auburn. To the extent (currently unknown) that Jarrett Stidham is a good quarterback, he became one before he arrived at Auburn, yet he's apparently slated to bypass all of Gus' high school recruits..
Your opinion is one voiced frequently by Auburn fans, I'm sure, but there's no good evidence that Auburn actually is a "perfect fit" for high school quarterbacks with NFL aspirations. The scheme is not a prototypical NFL scheme and Gus is not known for developing quarterbacks. They spend a large chunk of time learning how to twirl around in the backfield faking handoffs to various men in motion. I'd advise kids to go someplace where they'll learn to read a defense first and foremost, not practice HUNH with RPO using blocking that may well be illegal in the NFL.

If Fields can maintain the progress he's made as a passer over the past 6 months, then he'll fit in just about any offense in the country. He has the accuracy and arm to be in a pass-heavy offense, the legs to run a spread option offense, and he's smart enough to grasp a pro-style system pretty quickly. Chaney was one of the first coordinators to run a spread offense at the college level and did it very well at Purdue. He's changed to more of a Pro-style since his time in the NFL, but he had to tweak that some at Pitt. I think Chaney is capable of adapting to what he has at his disposal. At least, I hope so.
