Nauta benched at one point and Smart basically called out our TE's and said they couldn't get open?

Not sure if he got benched but he did call our tight ends out.

Ahh, maybe he wasn't benched. His practice habits have been mentioned before though. I read this article but I am not entire sure whether or not it was speculation.

Yeah... he's a hell of a punter, and will own the backup place kicking duties in all likelihood as well.

#1 rated Punter, #4 rated PK nationally by Kohls Kicking: LINK

Not sure how often they update ratings, but seemingly a hell of a pickup either way.

rb - swift cook holyfield (cook is going to be featured early and often---running backs that can catch and are as shifty as he is get involved quick) zues (depending on health) Herrian

here is the OL that i think will shake out

RT - Wilson
RG - Cleveland (kid HAS to work on his feet..he got royally abused in pass pro in the natty--one time specifically because the bama DL yanked him and he lost balance--that's feet not strength)
C - Gilliard - senior and experience will win the day
LG - Salyer - when his high school coach says he is better than Thomas and he kills it at the Army AA game i'm sold.
LT - Thomas -- how hard is it to switch from right to left?

On 247's projected defensive depth chart today, they said that Webb could end up moving back to offense, hadn't been decided yet. If that's true, the talk about his cornerback skills may be a little overdone, because we obviously could use another good corner with a year in the system. Even if Baker stays, not sure why the decision would still be up in the air if Webb was really showing out.

Didn't Woerner start ahead of him against OU

We don't want these 5 star cbs knowing that a spot is likely already filled up. This is all propaganda, remember?

Now you're catching on. That's why I said "If that's true". Just because it's written somewhere doesn't mean it's true, or false.

I wonder if Hardman moves to the outside now that he has some experience. I think Godwin is better in the slot.

I see no reason why Godwin and mecole should switch spots

Might need to revisit this one now that the class is complete.

I personally think at a minimum Salyer/Hill compete for Guard spots, Mays will fight Wilson for right tackle and Erickson/Hill could be a player at Center.

Tyson Campbell is too good to ride pine. I imagine he will get a look on returns and at Starting Corner opposite Baker.

I also think Brenton Cox, Otis Reese and our Trio of LB get into the Two deep and at least one of them starts. If I had to bet it would be Quay Walker/Channing Tindall.

In 2 years this may be the best o-line in CFB history. The depth is unbelievable. Your 4th string guard would start at any other school.

I agree, the young LBs will get in the game a lot. We lost a lot there. I expect that unit to be more "by committee" than it was last year. I'm missing Roquan already, what a stud.

What do people think is the 2 deep on the d-line? The DT/NT position looks a bit underwhelming. Although I think Clark and Ledbetter will be stars.

Compared to our other DT's Malik Herring is all skin and bones.

Those measurements were taken at the start of the season and he was a true freshman. This is why I'm optimistic about 2018. He and everyone else will get bigger/smaller and stronger with the conditioning program.
