Ameer Speed is getting a visit from Kirby, Schumann, and Tucker tomorrow. I really hope we end up getting this guy.

I wasn't sure if he would still take the visit since his cousin Swift cancelled all of his and they say they are playing together.

imo I don't see Speed as being a backup plan. His size and physicality is just something you don't see much in corners. He also has a very impressive offer list, which I tend to put more stock in compared to how many stars somebody has.

Other than Jamyest and AJ Terrell, can't think of many "A" cornerbacks we were in on.

I agree with you speed looks like he could help out here at Georgia. So he is a three star. The stars are just stupid grading that the recruiting sites have come up with. Seen many four and five star bust. Look and JJ Watt he was a 2 star coming out of high school, and Pollack was a 3 star. They ending up doing well. All the star ranking does not measure the heart and determination of a person.

77 percent of alabama's roster is 4 or 5 star.... it doesn't matter on the field sure, but these recruiting services are pretty good at what they do.

I agree on a macro level- but I look to the offer list more so now. If a 3* has offers from Bama, Clemson, FSU, AU, etc., that means more than a 4* who doesn't. I also think the "star" system is a big disadvantage to the kid who grew 5 inches and added 45 lbs. before his Sr year.

Imo, for your methodology to work, you would need to identify "commitable" offers from "sling 200+ offers around the country to show the prospect that we may be interested" offers.
With that said, I know nothing about Speed, so I don't have anything to contribute on his particular case.

Seen many a 4 and 5 star bust, sure. I've also seen many a 4 and 5 star turn out to be program changers. Evidence shows, you load up on 4 and 5 stars and your on-field success goes way up. Load up on 2 and 3 stars. Well...

Load up on them 4 and 5 stars and filter them out like Bama. We're getting CBs for Nico Collins this morning.

So Nico Collins received two crystal balls to Georgia today. One from an Ohio state analyst and the other from a guy who covers Virginia Tech.

UGA is loading up with 4 and 5 star players so it's not quite problem for us. We have less 3 stars than any class I can remember. And three 3 stars we have are some physical specimens in Wyatt and Landers. We also took Rice over Warner so it's not like we are settling.
