re: Why eliminating FCS games is easier said than done.

Doesn't seem overly fair for all teams in the conference. UGA already plays the following teams to end the year:
UF
Kentucky
Auburn
Georgia Tech
Alabama
Throwing in another conference game after Auburn doesn't seem right.

Wait... you are honestly going to say UGA was lucky to have a win against AU in the past few years??? Considering one of your 2 wins in recent memory?
Yep, UGA was the lucky team. Nothing to see here. :rotflmao:

I believe you meant "(36 if you include football lol)" thus implying UGA doesn't have a football national championship out of their 36.
Or you are dumb.

I thought I remembered reading that the Roommate Switch was predicated on having 16 teams in a conference? So 4 mini-divisions, that rotated around in the "roomate switch"y fashion.

I think that depends on how UGA loses to Bama. 20+ point loss, yeah, LSU jumps them. Losing a close game like last year's NC? UGA might not move in the hypothetical that you laid out

So if he said "Put the n***a in!", everything would be okay?
re: UGA fans; would you trade Kirby and your current trajectory...

Yes.

This is a good idea to check. Next time it happens, go into the Alexa App and look at the settings for that Echo. It should say whether or not it is connected to a bluetooth speaker.

If the primary use is for noise cancelling, then the Bose are the best choice.
re: Home Office: Dual or Single Monitor Setup?
Posted by cribbsjy on 1/24/18 at 1:44 pm
If it isn't for gaming, then I recommend a 40"-ish 4k tv. I use one as a work monitor at home, and it is fantastic. More screen real-estate than I know what to do with.

Considering the average median house built in 2015 was over 2600sqft, I would hardly call 2000sqft a subtle brag on a "large house."

The SlingTv app is pretty good; I've never had any problems using it to stream football games.

Next time, try SlingTV Orange. I've used it for the past 2 football seasons; I active it when the season starts, and turn it off after the championship game. Costs me $25 a month for all of the ESPNs.
As for the local channels, I had to find other sources (thanks dad, for letting me use your cable subscription login), but most games that I cared about were on the ESPNs.

Same as CarRamrod. $80 gigabit fiber package. $80 total bill.
re: Wireless router for big house

I have a Velop 3 node setup. It is fantastic. Full coverage across 2900 sq ft. It is also MU MIMO, so compatible devices get full speeds when used concurrently.
re: Having issue with Schlage lock and my door
Posted by cribbsjy on 1/5/18 at 10:33 am
I completely forgot about the thicker/larger security plate. I actually didn't use it, and just kept my stock strike plate. The door is windowed top-to-bottom, and flanked by windows; if someone wants in my house, they won't need to kick in a deadbolt LOL
re: Having issue with Schlage lock and my door

I had to dremel the hole a bit deeper for the schalge bolt (which was longer than my previous deadbolt). I also dremeled the striking plate a tad to make the whole a little bigger, that way the schlage doesn't have to go into "high power mode" to force the lock shut, which drains the battery.
re: ATT Fiber
Posted by cribbsjy on 1/4/18 at 9:04 am
I love my ATT Fiber connection. I only stream tv and on Saturday had all three early games going at the same time (TV, TV, tablet). Almost 0 hiccups (one of the tvs would lag/pixelate a couple of times during the game, but I suspect it is the gen-1 chromecast at fault).
Ensure you have the proper supporting hardware, e.g. gigabit capable router with 802.11ac (bonus if it is MU-MIMO), cat5e/cat6 cabling, 5.0ghz capable devices (the 2.4ghz Roku sucks in comparison to the 5.0ghz), etc.

re: UCF - The People's Champion

But Bama dominated Clemson, proving they are the better team. The playoff is the best 4 teams. If anything, this past weekend showed the rankings were off by having Clemson #1. Probably should have been
1 OU
2 UGA
3 Bama
4 UCF?

The only question is: which team do you leave out to let UCF in, Clemson or Oklahoma?
