Big deal, man, you had to go to fricking Texas To get it. Who wants that.
I got a job in atlanta and excelled enough at that job to be asked to help open up a new office here in Dallas.
Also, it would be MORE impressive to have this job in Texas lined up after school because UGA doesn't mean anything to anyone out here.

Can we stop the Academic Dick Measuring on the recruiting thread lol. ND > GA all day everyday in terms of academics. This is Fact.
If DR is THAT concerned about getting the best education, realistically we are in 3rd place at best.
Stanford > ND > UGA.
Now Football-wise I'd argue its like this
UGA > Stanford > ND
But if the kid is all about academics we can close this thread.

The thing is, this is HIGHLY debatable.
I'd honestly put both Stanford and ND ahead of Georgia at the moment.

Huh?
LINK
UGA has 53 players in the NFL right now. ND has 43 and Stanford has 42.
LINK
And in the last 10 years, UGA is 4th with 56 players, ND is 13th with 40, and Stanford isn't even in the top-20.
Edit: and actually those are pre-2015 numbers, so there's even more disparity now.

I'm not saying we don't put more players in the NFL. But if you're asking who's playing better football, getting more exposure, and has more national prestige at the moment- it's Stanford.

I'd say Stanford right now as well. But that's just my opinion.

Wait, are you serious? You think Georgia is playing at a higher level than Stanford? You think Georgia is getting more exposure and has more national prestige than Stanford right now?
Christ. Ok. Here we go
Since 2011, Stanford has gone to 5 BCS Bowl Games (3 Rose, Fiesta, Orange), won 3 Pac 12 Championships, had 2 Heisman runners ups (Luck, McCaffrey), and currently have 30 players on NFL rosters.
What does Georgia have to show in that same time span?
I'll wait...

So you're essentially proving you don't watch football, yes?

The Pac 12 - top to bottom - is one of the best conferences in the country, and has been for a few years.

Here are the TV numbers for National TV Rankings from 2015. This excludes the SEC Network.
Regular season:
Notre Dame - 45.036 million viewers
UGA - 27.636 million viewers
Stanford - 25.405 million viewers
Including bowl game and conference championship:
Notre Dame - 54.795 million viewers
Stanford - 41.539 million viewers (2.582 from Pac-12 Championship
UGA - 33.508 million viewers (SEC Champ which we missed had 12.76 million viewers)
As of now, I'd say that Notre Dame is more desirable for national exposure, but Stanford is not. They play a lot of 10:00pm et (or later) games when half the nation is asleep. Stanford didn't have a single game with more than 3.51 million viewers in the regular season outside of the ND game which had 7.32. The Pac-12 has very poor viewing.
As far as the football program in general I definitely believe Stanford is better than us right now, but part of coming to a new coach is being a player who can help turn a program around.

That's part of the "exposure" piece but there's definitely more to it. Like being on ESPN, having Heisman contenders, winning championships, and playing in BCS games. SportsCenter and College Gameday get a team's name out there pretty well and Stanford has gotten a lot of great exposure the last few years considering their time zone.
And Stanford only had 2 million less viewers than UGA for their games that most are asleep for. That's impressive no matter how you slice it.

Frankly, unless you go to an IVY, your undergrad degree is not as important as it used to be. Getting into a good Grad program is the goal for a lot of kids these days. Going to a more difficult undergrad and not getting as good of grades can actually hurt your chances of getting into a lot of Grad programs.
I just hired 3 kids under 30 for what would be considered a really good job for 5 years experience. I looked at a lot of resumes. I didn't interview any of the GT candidates. This job required people skills. I did interview one kid from an Ivy. He was an odd bird. Ended up hiring 2 from SEC Schools and one from a Big 10. The schools really didn't matter. Knowing they were able to graduate with a Biz degree from a solid school was good enough along with a good resume and experince.
I almost always interview an ex athlete... No matter the sport as long as the resume meets all the other parameters. I find them to be disciplined and competitive which typically ends in good results...

I'm sorry, but the kid is struggling to make a 1500 on the SAT and he thinks he'll make it at Stanford majoring in architecture or engineering? Congrats for aiming high and I hope he proves me wrong but that's going to be a tough road for anyone.
I don't thin he could make it at Stanford. In fact, if you struggle to get in there at all, how are you going to make the grades while playing football, too? I don't see it.
I just think Whiznot is showing a little homerism to think he would be better off football wise or academically at UGA rather than ND. The only reason you choose UGA over ND, would be availability of playing time and/or proximity to home. (Or you just grew up a UGA fan.)
