No, per 247.
Looking to hear from Stanford, will visit possibly Bama, UGA, or both after that. We should still consider ND the leader.

This is a great article I saw linked over on 247. This is a great read about bagmen and what happens at SEC schools (ours included)
I think AU is just better at it then we are.
LINK
ITs def old, but maybe some haven't seen it

I love the "Bag Man" article.
If I win Powerball, this is what I'm doing with my life.

Most people that dont' have their head in the sand know that bagmen and cheating happen everywhere. What blows my mind is how it hasn't been caught in a serious way yet. I mean, it's been happening since probably the frickin 70s and it's only gotten/getting bigger.
I know the NCAA is just a faceless organization comprised of actual humans that can't be everywhere in america 24/7, but I mean they can't find ANY evidence of teams like ole miss and auburn cheating, which they clearly do? None at all? I know we aren't above it, I know we cheat, but we at least seem to cheat small time.

Why would they go out of their way to look very hard? Unless it is something blatant that the media picks up on (read: Miami, UNC academic, Louisville strippers, etc.) what incentive is there to wade into this shite?
EDIT: To be clearer, why spend time looking for problems when you can just be reactionary to the media and appear to be serving your purpose?

With the way recruits talk so much amongst themselves in surprised too that it hasn't gotten auburn or ole miss caught or any team really. It's like these bag men are able to throw around money to recruits and no evidence to be found. U would think a stupid kid in high school would get $1,000 or more for a official visit and go out and flash the money on Instagram or wherever. But I haven't seen it and it seems like the NCAA isn't that much concerned with the problem either.
I still think when the Ole Miss allegations come out they will walk away with a slap on the wrist. It's like the NCAA knew something was going on but couldn't find any concrete evidence so they waited to release the allegation story a week before NSD to shake up their recruiting efforts but clearly it didn't work

Good point but the NCAA is here for the student athletes

I think I would argue that it is not, but rather it is here for the institutions.

Umm. it's their fricking job? Why bother looking into players selling a $100 textbook, or getting a suit on the sly from a store at the mall, or a guy selling his autograph? They sure seem to care about all that...but not the thousands upon thousands that are doled out in envelopes? Yeah ok.

I think Freeze's 2nd recruiting class taht included 4 or 5 top ranked players at their postiion, includign the top WR in the country from fricking chicago going to oxford (i wont' even mention tunsil since it's been done to death) should be enough to react to.

That's the craziest part of it to me. You can get suspended for a third of the season for selling your autograph, but being paid straight up by boosters just kind of gets ignored.

ticky tack stuff like that doesn't negatively affect the revenue stream much, and they still get a PR win.
Their actual job is to make money for themselves and their member institutions. You want to know why they're not going to crush UNC? Watch March Madness and pay special attention to how many ads there are.

I think if UNC and SMU switched what they did, they would still have the exact same punishments they have right now.

Individual players can be sacrificial lambs. Programs are a different story. It's the lesson of SMU.
