Georgia with Alabama and USCe still fighting.

Could be an EE still.

Basically everything is up in the air

I would like to have him since our WR depth sucks, but I don't see him as a plug and play type guy. His entire video on HUDL is him catching screens and outrunning people. Was hoping to see more of a "throw it up because you know i'll come down with it" type player.

Still definitely want, especially since we really only just entered the picture, but I don't think everyone should expect Calvin Ridley production out of the gate if he does end up in Athens.

I'll take his talent. Not the big receiver body we need but, like Crow said in another thread, we need guys that can get separation no matter their size. I think this kid qualifies

FWIW.... A poster in the Bama recruiting thread posted that we lead for Ridley and he could still be an EE. Is this because of the Coley hire? Or are the rumors about us hiring a "mentor" true?

Recruiting is a strange game.. But hopefully we get him

Coley primarily. Haven't heard anything reliable about the mentor.

Rumor on Rivals is that we're slow playing Laguins because we like our chances with Mack Wilson.

Doesn't make sense to me...we have 13 commits...plenty of room for impact players. I find it hard to believe we'd turn quality players away, regardless of position.

^^^this. If I'm Kirby I want as many top-rated players as I can get. Continuing our LB depth would be awesome.

Doesn't make much sense to me either but it's just what's out there. We'll see...

Laguins

Kirby told him not to be so butthurt. Gotta love that.
Like you said, rumored that Wilson is a silent, but that's hard to believe. Just so we don't miss them both.

Did I mention how much I love Julian Rochester.

As everyone who is a Dawg target does an interview Rochester will yell GO DAWGS in the background. This guy is awesome.

He did it during Nautas interview which looks extremely positive for Georgia but you never know.

He did it during D Robs interview.

He did it during D Browns interview.

Kid is making sure his buddies know he loves the Dawgs and wants them to come.

I hear you man, wasn't questioning you just throwing in my two cents

One guy that I feel like is going to come back to bite us (though we don't play them, I just feel like he'll produce) is Tre Lamar. Committed to Clemson a long time back, I feel like either his junior year or during the summer...but that kid just seems like a tackling machine to me. Were we ever in play for him/out of it for any particular reason, or was he just always a Clemson lean?

The Roswell coach is a huge Clemson homer. He was a big time poster on Clemson boards but had to stop when he became HC

AJC

quote:

Demetris Robertson-

Stanford still leads even though he’s never visited the school. Prospects must be accepted into Stanford before the offer of an official visit can be accepted. The school has been Robertson’s leader ever since he de-committed from Alabama in June.

“It is really hard,” Robertson said. “But I want to achieve that goal of getting accepted into Stanford. I’m not saying I am going to Stanford for sure if I make the score or anything like that, but I want to be able to say I was a good enough student to get accepted into a great university like Stanford.”

It was about this point of the interview that UGA defensive line commitment Julian Rochester continued his Army Bowl practice habit this week. He found a UGA target and yelled out “Go Dawgs” in the midst of an interview.

This time, he even added a question of his own.

“Are you coming to Georgia?” Rochester said.

“I have a surprise for the Georgia fans,” Robertson responded.

Rochester moved on and Robertson continued the discussion about Stanford.

He said if the opportunity with Stanford does not materialize with that 100-point increase on his test score, then his decision comes down to Georgia, Alabama and Georgia Tech. He said his mother really likes the thought of him going to Georgia Tech.

He wasn’t exactly sure on the dates but is planning official visits to UGA on Jan. 15 and Alabama on Jan. 19.

Robertson said when Kirby Smart was hired, it helped UGA’s chances of signing him. He had grown close to Smart when he was recruiting him to Alabama.

“I wouldn’t say it moved Georgia up in my mind a whole lot as much as it made me really open my eyes,” Robertson said. “That was someone I really know that I can trust his word and be like a loyal person to me. I really trust him when he says something to me.”

He thinks he has the ability to contribute at multiple positions. That could be at cornerback or receiver. He’s willing to play wherever he’s needed the most.

“I would love to do everything if I could learn the playbook and everything that goes along with that,” Robertson said. “I would just take it one step at a time.”

There’s one other major consideration with Roberston. That’s his twin sister. There a chance she could enroll at UGA and join the track team. She’s set to make that decision later this year and the opportunity to attend the same school would be another draw.

He hearing he needs to come “join a special class” from the current UGA commits on the East team at the Army Bowl practices this week. Robertson said UGA 5-star commitment Jacob Eason somehow managed to exceed his expectations this week.

“I honestly didn’t think even he could throw as well as he has so far,” Robertson said. “But he’s really good. He’s really tall, too.”

Also there has been a "silent" commit, or a uncommitted target that has been on him all week about coming to UGA with them. My guess is Hardman or Nauta.
