Hell, you would be surprised as to how many high school players think they will make it to the NFL...
Not really. I was one of them!
I played WR and was told early that I would be the best WR to ever come out of our High School. While I didn't necessarily let it go to my head, I had a pretty good future mapped out for myself.

A quick stroll over to the Vol Nation recruiting thread will provide you with a good laugh.
According to them Kyle Davis is a Vol Lock, they lead big for Derrick Brown, and we paid Mecole's high school coaches to schedule a team meeting the day of their big recruiting night so Mecole couldn't go

Also, they have it on good authority that Kyle Davis has been recruiting Mecole hard for UT.

If in fact it turns out to be true, we should see a huge CB prediction shift in the very near future. With all the smoke in favor of Tennessee right now, I'm having a hard time seeing how we only are at 6%. Are we the delusional ones?

If we go Davis, Eason, Nauta, Rochester, Brown, Hardman, Robertson is this the best class ever?
I know we say that every year, but in all seriousness.

If every 5* commits to us, yes
Posted on 8/12/15 at 10:30 am to CommitToTheG
If we bring in a class with:
-Eason
-Brown
-Rochester
-Nauta
-Hardman
-Davis
-Carter
-Cleveland
-Either Willie Allen/EJ Price
-Manac
You're talking about 5 in the Top 30 and 10 in the Top 100. I don't ever recall UGA bringing in THAT much top level talent. That is potentially 6 or 7 Five-Star athletes.

What does 247 have for Demetris Robertson's CB?
Posted on 8/12/15 at 10:48 am to CommitToTheG
UGA 67%
Bama 25%
Stanford 8%
ETA - not sure why our CB is so high. I don't think he comes to Athens.

I know we're in it for a lot of guys, but we'd need to haul in a Natty this year to be able to lock those guys down. Not saying we can't do it, just that it would be a task of epic proportions.

Recruits pay far less attention to on the field success than fans do. For most recruits, it's about whether or not they feel a team is building for a national title and the excitement level among the team/staff. We have one of the top recruiting staffs in the nation and we're finally catching up on recruiting personnel, too. I don't think we'll land all the guys I listed, but we'll land the majority.

Disclaimer: i do not know if any of this could have been picked from anything 247 is posting, but this is what Rivals (behind their paywall) is reporting. So please (dallas) don't chastise me.
"Yes our War Rooms are rare, but that is because when we find out things going on behind the scenes, we work like hell to get them on the record. Also, we tend to drop insider notes into threads when the topics come up from our readers. it is tough to amass a War Room when you are posting tidbits as fast as you get them.
Today is a little different in that we spoke to a few people who have been to all the practices and know of which they speak. Disclaimer: we are just over a week into camp. Things change quickly.
So first up is the quarterback question. When I asked what the situation was, the answer was "Meh." No one has won the job yet. No shock there but the idea that the coaches know who the starter is and are just going through this rotation to make said player "step up" is a fallacy. If Georgia knew who its quarterback was, that guy would be getting the majority of the reps with the first team. There is no point in putting on such a giant ruse. Could the situation change immediately? Sure. But as of Monday it was still a competition. We were told that the starter chosen for the ULM game may not be the one who starts at Vandy the following week.
Multiple highly-placed sources have told me they expect Greyson Lambert to eventually win the job. Note: they didn't say he has won it but rather that is who they think will win it. A few were very confident in their pick. They cite his intelligence and experience, saying that listening to Brian Schottenheimer and Lambert talk is like hearing two offensive coordinators talk football. Another source who knows Brice Ramsey VERY well told us Ramsey fully expects to be the starter and has said as much. And why wouldn't he? He is the heir apparent and when he puts his mind to it, Ramsey can be a monster. Faton Bauta isn't on the outside looking in, but I have yet to hear anyone tell me he will be the starter. His teammates love him but he did have at least one rough practice. When Faton is in a rhythm he is "great" but if he isn't, that's where the trouble starts.
More Offensive Notes:
The two names that keep popping up at wide receiver after Malcolm Mitchell, are freshmen Terry Godwin and Michael Chigbu. We broke the news the other day that Godwin hurt his shoulder lowering it a thud, but he is expected back soon. The staff was just taking precautions. The team is already thin at that slot (F) position with Isaiah Mckenzie out. Chigbu, one of Tony Balls top targets last year. "He is just so big and has those strong hands." Apparently Chigbu knows his routes, runs them well an if the ball is in the area, he is going to catch it. The comparison was made to Marlon Brown.
Brandon Kublanow is the center. We were told that back in the spring but didn't want to out the person that let that news slip. Sorry for the subterfuge but there was a reason we kept saying he was likely the guy. The more interesting note is that no one else is seriously rotating into that starting spot. We were told by the coaches in the spring a summer it would be a three man race. Rather, they decided that Kublanow was the guy and they are going hell bent for leather to try and have him ready at a position that he has not played before. Proof that if the coaches know who their guy is, they are going to work him at that spot.
Keith Marshal is back. Was told there are times he has flashes of his freshman year. The idea of him being back to full strength, along with Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, well, the word "Chills" was used.
Pat Allen is working almost exclusively at right tackle.
Defensive Notes:
Michael Barnett is killing it. He is getting a lot of praise. We mentioned in the summer how much weight he had put on since arriving in January. Just nuts.
Trenton Thompson has already been called Georgia's best defensive tackle by a couple of sources. Apparently Tracy Rocker is beside himself. He has had to coach some average talent before but Thompson is special. He's just moving guys in the direction that Rocker tells him to. Look for an early start for Thompson.
Another defensive standout is DaQuan Hawkins, the defensive tackle Georgia added at the last second in February. Not sure where he will fit in right now, but he is going to be a "good one" we are told.
Juwuan Briscoe is the real deal. We have heard a lot about him going back to the beginning of the summer. One person told us he was going to start. We asked Briscoe's camp if he was running with the ones during the 7-on-7s and were told that no one is a starter yet. A very good political answer but the buzz is there. While we expected big things from him, tow other names have come to the forefront.
Deandre Baker and Rico McGraw are standing out early. One source told us that Baker doesn't know the system yet but if you tell him to go lock down a receiver, he will lock down that receiver -- no matter who it is, Malcolm Mitchell included. Bold words but just relaying what we were told. As for McGraw, he is the other freshman standout "for certain." One source said that Alabama should have fought harder for McGraw. Not sure what the real story is there (we have heard that Bama passed on McGraw and we have herd that the Tide coaches fought for him) but either way, Georgia is glad he recommitted to the Bulldogs. He is playing Star for Georgia and "killing it."
A few Recruiting notes:
If signing day were tomorrow, Georgia would land Shyheim Carter. We told you on Dawg Night that he was wavering and sure enough the Rivals100 DB decommitted from Alabama on Monday morning. But signing day is 6 months away...the fear here is Ole Miss.
When Texas wide receiver Davion Curtis committed recently, there wasn't the stream of Twitter posts from the coaches that there normally is when a prospect pledges to the Bulldogs. No references to Texas or those Commit to the G style tweets. This led folks to wonder if the coaches were going to accept his commitment. Apparently there is no cause for alarm as the staff was in a meeting when he committed, or so we hear.
Linebacker Giovanni LaFrance told us his coach let him know that Georgia had offered. We contacted his coach and found that LaFrance does not have an offer.
We are told that McEachern wide receiver Tyler Simmons is down to Georgia and Alabama, but that it is too close to call one way or the other.
As for Simmons' teammate and fellow wide receiver Tyler Smith was just offered by Kentucky the other day but we still think he is an ACC lean right now, like to a North Carolina and some of the others standing out. That may change down the road He has been best friends with Georgia QB commit Bailey Hockman for a LONG time and they've always talked about a package deal, but the Bulldogs already have two 2017 wide receivers committed.
And since we are talking McEachern, look for Tremayne Anchrum to be a Bulldog if he is a take by the coaching staff. He is very tight with Julian Rochester and it is hard to see him going elsewhere.
Georgia is likely going to lose one commit, but it will be a mutual parting of ways. We can say this about every class and pretend to be insiders, but in this case we are watching to see how things progress on a certain prospect."

Nigel Warrior will not be taking OVs to UGA, Tennessee or Bama. LSU is a yes for OV though.

247 said nothing to worry about with Clark but haven't heard anything on McGhee in a while. Both appear to be flirting with AU.
