Well we will still have Sherrer, Rocker, Smart, and Schuman. I'm not too worried about our defense.

'm just not exactly gaga right NOW about him being our DC based on his track record
What I was thinking, I'd be okay with us never taking a NFL coordinator with lackluster credentials ever again. I feel like Kirby knocked every hire out of the park besides OC and DC, which on the outside look pretty meh. Hopefully, if it is Tucker, he'll be able to recruit like crazy and do what Kirby says on defense.

At one point in time we had richt, bobo, mcclendon, and lilly on offensive staff and we were still pretty bad at it.

Seems like when I looked, Tucker was DC in NFL for horrible teams. That's no excuse, but he knows what Kirby will want, and Kirby won't keep dead weight around like Richt did. I think he did a hell of a job with the staff and I think he closes this recruiting cycle stronger than most think.
I'll trust Kirby, until he gives me reason not too.

And we all thought Schotty was a OC in NFL for horrible teams...

Who knows tho... I'm all in with Smart & staff till he loses his first game...

Very true.
At least Tucker has never had a problem finding a job.

Frick that. You people do not demand enough excellence.

I'm all in with Smart & staff until we get scored upon. Smart's supposed to be a defensive guru.

Time to prove it. NO SCORES AGAINST US THIS YEAR OR FIRE PERNO!

as a Jags fan, I would love to see Tucker at UGA...despite the stats, he was good to the Jags...he is a helluva coach imho and if CKS is thinking that, maybe we should trust it?

Maybe so, but the stats stink to high heaven. 7 years as an NFL DC is certainly a pretty large sample size. Throwing out the aberration of the 2011 6th place position, the average of the other 6 seasons is 28th in a 32 team league or the bottom 10%. That scares the bejesus out of me. And what the hell happened in 2011?

Scott Sinclair is new head guy and John Thomas appears to be on the way out as we are bringing in Ed Ellis as well; former UCF head S&C guy and a Master Strength Coach like Thomas
