That's definitely a fair note, but I think many questioned his ability to coach offenses even before the QBs went down.
The other thing here is Schotty was a complete unknown for us, coming straight from the NFL. At this point, Smart worked with him for a season, so it's not unreasonable that he liked what he saw. I'd agree with the assessment that Smart will be point on gameplan/adjustments, so if that's the case DC is really a glorified pay bump and a spot in the box as you mentioned.
Are we feeling that Tucker is more likely than Lupoi at this point? Is that a good thing?
