I'm not sure he will trust UCLA after yesterday.
I hope the GA coaches don't regret calling him about the coaching change, and now he goes to UF or Auburn and they have to play against him.
Don't get me wrong, if I'm a GA coach I make the call also. j/s

I guess it just shows that no one really knows what he is going to do. Simmons said Lorenzo Carter talked to Roquan the night before and was impartial rather than trying to steer him to UGA. As a fan, that sucks, but as a person who believes these kids should make the best decision for themselves I have to give Carter some props for being a good friend to a kid who seems legitimately torn between head and heart.
That was my only problem with Van Jefferson. The kid seemed like he was just looking for ways to draw attention. Like a Kardashian(sp?). He should've just not committed to anyone until he was sure that's where he wanted to go because it became a circus act and I for one am not a fan of his now. Good luck to him but I'd be willing to bet he doesn't stay at Ol Piss for his entire college career.

I hate the Roquan didn't sign with UGA yesterday and even melted for a minute or two about it, but it is pretty clear that the only reason he is considering UGA is because of pressure from family/friends. I think if it was 100% up to him he wouldn't even consider UGA, he just wants to get out of the state and experience new things; in the end you can't fault him for it. You can't force a kid to go somewhere and force him to be happy- that is just shitty. I hope if he ends up "doing his own thing" it takes him out of the SEC because I don't want to play against him.

I don't believe that for a second. He went on the record yesterday saying his heart was at UGA. I think he feels like he may regret it if he doesn't take the chance to go away, but that doesn't mean he isn't interested in UGA.
Everybody seems to be looking at this as a "he didn't sign with UGA, he must not like UGA" deal. That's not what it is. These kids like a lot of different places and would likely be happy at any number of options.

Granted, family and friends is a fantastic legit reason to choose a school/career/place to live so I'm not knocking the kid at all

Question about Chatman from Miami. He never turned in a LOI to anybody. Are we in play at all with him? I know he came up late mid week and had a good time at the Steg.

Family and friends are pretty important to personal happiness. The two aren't mutually exclusive usually.
Probably 95% of college bound teenagers weigh the feelings of their family and friends pretty heavily in their decision, even if they don't realize it. There's a draw to being close to people you know.

He put it out on Twitter that he will be making a decision today and that he was torn. I don't believe we are in play but we could pull a surprise, who knows.

Yeah UGA is out for Chatman. It's Roquan or nothing else

One thing about Smith - he never "committed" to us. Unlike Slayton, he never told us he was coming to Georgia only to switch to a rival at the last second, leaving us to scramble for a replacement.
So, whatever he decides, I certainly won't hold it against him and I'll wish him the best.

Personally, I think the kid should go to Michigan. Yesterday should have sent him running straight to Athens but it clearly hasn't. And like frick would I want to be around Jim Mora for the next 4 years after that shite with Ulbrich. Michigan seems like the healthy medium for what he's wanting.

I would love to see that south Georgia boy spend a winter up there

Well, it's that, a fricking liar, or Athens. I know what I'd choose but I'm not Roquan.

I don't think Smith understands exactly how far away Athens really is. He has never experience college, full time training, etc. It isn't like he will be commuting. He will be as far away from family (or as close to) as he wants to be.
I wouldn't be bothered by a kid wanting to go to UCLA. I am on record as saying the weather, Asian chicks, and over Cali vibe is nice. However, if he decides to go to A&M then something is just friggin wrong.
We really need to work the 57-43 girl to guy ratio more often.

If he digs the Asian girls he can get his fill at UM though.

He didn't have to say it. 33% of their campus is Asian folk. I don't think UGA has a sorioty that looks like this:
