My guess would be 4th or 5th

Can't hurt, but I just don't see us getting him

Dawgs close out with Smith, Williamson, one other OL yet to be seen, and hopefully Allen and McGraw (not holding my breath on this one, though). Finish in the 4 to 7 range.

Sale's on the plane.

Yeah not happy at all about the current state of o-line recruiting. I hope they don't waste too many schollies on more two star guys.

There was always going to be OL recruiting fallout when we lost Friend. Hopefully Sale and others can salvage it

FWIW, we could take 5-6 OL in the next class if this one goes south. We'd rather not have to do that obviously, but it's an option.

I'd prefer to just take the hit in this class and go hard in the next one.

O-line isn't something we need to get behind on. I was hoping we could upgrade some in this class but it's not looking likely.

I get that but I don't want the roster to be filled with two and three stars.

True, but OL is one of the hardest things to judge. I don't trust the ranking services very much when it comes to OL evaluation.

I can't imagine trading Bobo/ Friend for Shotty/ Sale would scare once committed or heavily leaning OL off. Hopefully we can get Allen back in the fold. Not sure about the kid with the funky name and background.

Problem is OL is one of those positions where you need ever present depth. Richt played the "aw shucks, we'll get em next year" approach in recruiting OL a lot early in his career and it ended in some pretty awful lines and switching guys like Kiante Tripp to OT just to make ends meet.

So, we need to take some bodies this year since we're losing a fair amount of seniors when it's all said and done. Hardin on his own won't cut it.

I almost want to get to Stegeman on Saturday just to start/be a part of the recruit chants that the students always seem to do when big name guys come into town this late in the process.

It's all about relationships. Bobo was an absolute stud recruiter and when the position coach and oc of the school you were considering leaves, that shakes things up a bit.

I'm pissed I'll be out of town this weekend, or else I would definitely be there

I liked Friend as a coach, but he sucked at recruiting
