I'm assuming that means he has some friends that his parents want him to get away from. If that's the case, probably best for us and him if he does what dad wants.

I wouldn't assume that. Could be for any number of reasons.

I agree with Kimsey that Sanders will be a starter at UGA for awhile

Don't shoot the messenger, but a few analysts and crit on 247 have hinted that Roundtree may not be a take for UGA. Rusty is looking into it

This is mostly speculation imo, but he has had a rough senior season so it's possible

Yeah, I mentioned that in the Roundtree thread. I would be quite surprised, but he did have rough Sr tape and I believe Pruitt thinks he may grow into an ILB like Alec did. If he does, though, and we can land Roquan, the JUCO, and someone like McGinnis maybe, then why would we want a position-switching project?

Personally I still see him as a S and want him here, but I don't make that decision.

As long as he doesn't "ole" anyone else like he did Treon on that bad snap/fumble in the UF game.

This ^. He missed a few tackles in the UF game, tried the ole Reshad Jones "shoulder bump".

Roundtrees dad is career politician with higher assperations. If he wants him out of state, it's because he doesn't want to get publicly shamed when his son gets dismissed for whatever reason, I mean the kid is a DB. Seems like solid logic. Duke wouldn't drop a 5-star from the program unless he pistol whipped a faculty member in public.
In all seriousness, if he can pull an Ogletree at UGA, I would take that in a heartbeat.

lotta OSU rumbling this a.m. on Roundtree from Evans/Augusta area posters on the boards. I'll qualify it by saying none of these guys are paid insiders...

Here's Rowes live announcement thread on 247...

So with much prayer and discussion with my family, I have decided to verbally commit to play college football at the University of Georgia

We need bodies, but it will be a year or two before he's ready to see the field. It's a good pickup for down the road, but he's not going to be a kid that will play right away, unless they put him on ST.

Spoke with my buddy at Lakeside a moment ago. Obviously everyone is very happy, but he said that he didn't think it was ever very close and that UGA was the pick all along; but he is a politician's son and he was great at throwing everyone off during his recruitment. He was telling people one thing, but behind the scenes he thinks Rashad knew all along that UGA was for him. Pretty cool way to do it to with the pants.

ETA: He also added that he does believe that his recruitment is over and no other visits should occur.

Glad we got him. Ceiling is high for this one. Let's hope he responds to our program well. I think he has the potential to be a 1st or 2nd rounder.

You guys need to keep an eye on the Abram kid out of Mississippi. Coaches think he has 5 star talent and can play immediately.

That's big. We need people that can play ahead of him though since he appears to be a little bit of a project. I don't want his confidence ruined early by getting beat consistently in his Freshman year
