Irish Envy homer on Eason...
I agree with #3 tho....
quote:
Thing is dude, he was NEVER coming to ND. He was a bad fit both on the field and off. 3 things here:
1. This kid is going to be the leader of your program. No way can the leader of your program be the kind of kid who openly questions whether or not he could work with the head coach because he hears he's too tough on his QB's. Sure, he came to ND and said he liked BK after all and would be fine playing for him, but that quote set off major red flags for me. Because A) I don't want Kelly treating his QB's with kid gloves, cause that's not his style and he needs to be true to himself, and B) that quote made Eason sound soft, whether it was true or not.
2. His dad, despite being a legacy, is a stage dad in every sense according to one reporter I know. Blake Barnett's dad was bad enough (and he was the reason BB decommited...his mom was all ND); ND did not need another one of those at the QB position.
3. He's a pro-style kid, and he and his dad had real concerns about that and how BK would utilize him in the offense. Georgia runs a pro-style, so it's a better fit.
This is not a loss for ND, because he was just never going to be Irish. I was shocked he smoothed things over with the Irish staff and we even made his top 5. And this isn't sour grapes on my part...

No, of course not. What kid wouldn't want to go to an all-Catholic boys college in the middle of Indiana?

That's a good forum. Clean and good traffic. But GOTDAMN they need to have more than 4 posts before starting a new page.

I don't see why it would. ND was targeting him and his dad went there but us playing them probably didn't have much of an effect. All we had to show him was that we develop QB's better than any school in the nation. Going to UGA for 3-4 years would make him better prepared for the NFL than any other school in the country. Pretty easy sell and it's the reason that, as long as Richt and Bobo are here, we're going to continually get highly touted qbs.

A lot hinting around on Scout and 247 that the good news from the weekend isn't over yet. Today could be good as well. Pure speculation: Ledbetter or Jackson.

Jackson.
He's been in Athens since Thursday. Still here

It's been mentioned, but to reiterate:

Westover DL Trenton Thompson told Scout national recruiting analyst Chad Simmons that the Bulldogs are still on top after his visit to both Auburn and Georgia this weekend.
“Georgia is No. 1, then Auburn is No. 2 for me. I still like Alabama, Florida State, and USC, too,” he said on Sunday.

I have a feeling if Ledbetter don't flip by Monday, he will wait it out until January at an ALL-Star game.

Anybody else hearing jackson about to pop?

His Scout interview seemed promising. LSU folks have basically said he's ours to lose at this point.

Guys over on the 247 board said Huggins had a great trip to Athens. "My parents enjoyed it to, which makes my choice a little easier," Huggins said.

Not going to hold my breath on Huggins
