Get paid and don’t get hurt in the fricking Texas bowl. If that bothers you, I don’t know what to tell you

There’s a lot of fans in every fanbase who find the kids useless if they aren’t being entertained.

I'd like to see Rogers and Buckley declare so Mond won't lock in on them during plays.

I’m glad Mad isn’t playing. Allows next year’s DL to get more game reps in. And Mad doesn’t get hurt in a freak Tua-like accident

Is Hubbard officially skipping the Texas bowl?

Pretty sure he’s either hurt or skipping.

Gundy has said he expects Hubbard to play as well as their starting QB to maybe be back from injury.

quote:

There will be some premier players in the game and for Oklahoma State fans wondering about which Cowboys would play. Could quarterback Spencer Sanders return and play after is thumb surgery back Nov. 18? Would Cuba Hubbard play in the bowl or bow out and look ahead to the NFL?

I saw Sanders on Saturday night at the Oklahoma Class 6A-I State Championship Game between Owasso and Jenks and Sanders looked pretty good. He also ran around some in the Cowboys practices last week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning.

Hubbard was there too, but he has been quiet about his future. He told me he would wait and see what his draft grade was from the NFL. He has been cryptic in social media expressions.

Head coach Mike Gundy was neither cryptic of quiet when asked about the availability of both players on the Texas Bowl teleconference.

"There is nothing to hide (with Spencer) as everybody knows he is coming off an injury and he will be released... I think his follow up is the 16th or 17th (Dec.)," Gundy elaborated. "So he would miss half of our bowl prep, but there is a chance they would release him 100 percent the 16th or 17th, so it is not for sure."

As for Chuba Hubbard, Gundy seemed much more certain of his All-American running back and the nation's leading rusher, who Gundy will spend some extra time with later this week at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Atlanta, Ga. on Thursday at the College Football Hall of Fame. Gundy will be there with Hubbard a finalist for the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award.

"Yes, I haven't talked to him about it, but I would expect him to play in this game," Gundy said somewhat matter of fact. "I think Chuba will be playing next year too. How's that."

That last part, Gundy said with more certainty. I know this, I have heard that there is a chance that Hubbard would play at Oklahoma State next year. Again, I think the draft grade would likely carry a lot of weight.

That said some seem to think he probably won't play as he's never explicitly said he will play in the bowl game.

quote:

Chuba has been given every opportunity to declare that he is playing in OSU’s bowl game. There’s a lot at stake in terms of records. He needs 64 yards for the 32nd 2,000-yard rushing season in college football history. He needs 164 for the 18th 2,100-yard rushing season in college football history. He can put distance between himself and third place on the all-time single-season list at OSU.

But at every turn, 30 has declined to state his intentions. After Bedlam, he was coy, if not outright brazen about the future. Then on Monday — after he was snubbed as a Heisman finalist — he again had a chance to say something like, “See you in Houston.” He didn’t take it. Instead: “I’m forever proud to be a Cowboy, and I’m going to keep working hard for y’all.”

That sounds like “See you at the Combine” language.

THAT is going to hurt.

It's probably the best for all parties involved since it's a meaningless bowl.

Madubuike doesn't risk injury and gets a healthy shot at the combine. We get to give Percy and Rodgers practice time and in-game experience for next year.

So far the only prediction the OP has missed upon was not predicting Beal in the portal.

We may be running a lot of multiple TE sets next season between Jalen Wydermyer, Baylor Cupp and Blake Smith.

We still need to drop 9 more to take a full 25 as well as Mowry and Shepherd, right?

So Reynolds and Dietsch are both grad transfers. Quartney Davis graduated as well.

I do. When he got hurt, Corbin was the starter, but was fighting off Isaiah Spiller for carries.

Now that Spiller is clearly the returning starter, Richardson is clearly the backup, and Devon Achane and possibly Zach Evans or EJ Smith are coming in, he sees the writing on the wall.

Spiller and Richardson are different backs from Corbin. He offered a change in pace and I think he would've seen a good amount of carries still.

Not with Achane coming in.
