I've only seen it on S.I. Is there anything to this?

Poster on 247 made a comment this morning that King is still pretty banged up and might be an emergency only back up QB and Weigman should be getting the start.

If Weigman starts, King and Johnson are done. Granted, they might need to simplify the playbook for him initially, but in reviewing tapes, I see no skill sets where either is as good as Weigman.

I view this as a massive positive

I do too. Get all the reps in the bye week, come out against a very beatable SC team and let him finish off the season. All these young guys getting experience is good

Me too. I think the reason that Sumlin/Kingsbury offenses were so good is that they were simple. The same dozen plays run out of different formations, but they were effective.

The reason sumlin/Kingsbury offense was so good was 5 NFL OL, a HOF WR, and JFF playing backyard ball. Lol

Kingsbury's offense is great until it isn't, just like Leach.

Sumlin doesn't have an offense. He was a gum chewing chameleon.

It was still pretty good even without JFF and Evans. Unlike the NFL, there's more limited practice time. Might as well learn 30 plays and rep them to perfection rather than trying to learn 100 and half-assing them all.

You can be simplistic without running the air raid. The triple option is pretty simple.

I'm not saying Air Raid. Even Leach has been running a more balanced offense as of late. I'm talking about just simplifying it, which would include triple option, RPOs, etc.

I don't expect Weigman to start, because Fisher is too hung up on upperclassmen. I also expect Weigman to transfer this off season because he never honestly got a crack at the starting job.

Fisher is a moron

Hope not. Although Jimbo might have convinced him that this is the best move for his football AND baseball career. If that's not the case and the team knows that he's been the best QB all along, we could lose even more to the portal due to Jimbo's stubbornness.

Weigman has already been contacted by three teams that I know of. One of them, I would definitely take the transfer if I were him.

So you are some how in the know of 3 schools breaking NCAA rules? I mean call them them the frick out, name the schools if you really know something.

Weigman is being recruited by USC, UGA, and several lesser teams. Stewart is being recruited by Texas. Nolen is being recruited by Tennessee. Jackson is being recruited by Ole Miss. That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface with some of those not seeing active playing time as well from the lesser schools out there.

Teams are openly coming after our "class", and I'm not sure we are going to pay enough to keep the kids.

This is CFB these days. And a coach on the hot seat is the biggest target for those who actively use the portal to fill out their class. The only way to stem the bleeding is to play Weigman, and Fisher is too stubborn to do so barring injury to the upperclassmen above him

Yeah I'm curious to know where that info is coming from. You've been Mr doom and gloom all season, so dont tell us you heard a rumor from a friend of a friend of some athletic trainer in the department.

One of my friend's daughters is dating one of the reserves. There will be defections after this shite stain of a year, especially on offense.

And if Fisher doesn't make changes, there is a group of graduates that have been actively recruiting to buy out his contract and fire him in the background just like they did years ago with Sumlin. I have actually pledged to that cause if it happens, though I don't think it is doable for another year or two.

Also, if you want another barometer for the mood around Fisher go read the TexAgs message boards. All negative, and threads are actually staying up. Usually you get banned for half of the things I've read on TexAgs these days in the past.

It all adds up to a not very pretty picture

Stated above, Tantal. It isn't all bad news. There are some real leaders on this team that will pull together no matter what happens after this year. Some kids that really love A&M. So far, Weigman has no plans to go from the vibe in the locker room. But that doesn't mean the contact is not happening, either.

Riley, Sarkisian, and Saban are some of the worst out there with tampering. And they have the boosters to back them
