Lolwut? Oklahomaplex may be the most spread out metropolitan area in the United States (maybe second to Los Angeles). The drive from downtown Fort Worth to downtown Dallas is 40 minutes on a good day .
I was responding to this

Small town > all of y’all in big arse cities with hour plus long commutes to go 10 miles.
Exactly how close to Dallas do you think Forth Worth is?
In fact, to say it takes 40 minutes to get to Forth Worth from Dallas actually makes your lol wut even sillier in the context of what I responded to b/c FW is over 30 miles from Dallas.
So yea... that aint an hour plus commute to go 10 miles at all.
PS the Houston metro area (10,062 sq mi) is larger than the DFW metro (9,286 sq mi).

I will agree that of the big 3 Texas cities, San Antonio kicks the other two cities asses when it comes to traffic congestion.
And I have a friend who works in Houston that lives about 15 miles away from his office. If he doesn’t leave at the right time (i.e. basically 6:00) it takes him over an hour to get to work. I live 12 miles away from my work and it takes about 10 minutes. One stop sign is it, but I live in the country and work at an office thsts in the country too. Love it.

I get this frequently from my wife. But not about small towns vs. you poor dumb bastards living in gargantuan cities. On that one we agree.
Condolences... sort of.

You know why Houston and the Texas Gulf coast attract so many hurricanes?
Because Cuba blows and Southern Oklahoma sucks.

I live 30 miles from the office, takes me 22 minutes when i have to go there, living in small town Texas is awesome. Well that is if you still consider B/CS a small town.

So you average about 82 mph? Assuming you have to slow down into around the 40s around your house and the office that would mean you're driving 90+ mph down a country road. Congrats?

You know what I just realized? That at 4 AM, there's virtually no traffic in Houston or Dallas.
That means that your 4 AM commute would likely be shorter if you lived in the big city
