Pat's just trolling. His original pro-Kennedy argument was we gave Kennedy a 5 year contract, so we should let him coach every single day of it. Not a single school at any level does that, so it wasn't even a good troll. But I think he enjoyed the reaction so much that he decided to roll with the role.
