Watching the d-line getting held play after play is getting old. The fg before half was a gift, the hold took place after the fumble. Ridiculous officiating once again.

Amazing how many times South Carolina got outside of us with ease rushing the ball. Figured we would adjust at half… NOPE.
Have to credit them. More physical on both sides of the ball all night long.
Penalties, so so many missed tackles, and losing Moss… yikes. Score is pretty indicative of the arse kicking we took.
Just got to move on and win out. We can.

Reed started and played the whole game. It was pretty clear they were ready for the read option game. I didn’t think Reed was bad throwing. Missed on a couple deep balls but the play calling was suspect at best. Couldn’t tackle on defense, we had sellers several times in the backfield and couldn’t get him down. A really stupid play call going for it on fourth down on our own 35 right out of the gate. Basically spotted them points. Also, and this didn’t cost us the game but it certainly didn’t help, penalties were very one sided. Like completely one sided
Overall you could tell what team was fresh off a bye, playing at home and which team needs a bye. Not an excuse it’s just the simple truth, bye week would’ve been fantastic between LSU and USCe games. Oh well, you win and you’re in. It changes nothing

It wasn’t a “trap game” but you could almost see this one coming a mile off. Big comeback, draining win vs LSU, South Carolina coming off a bye and energized with a “top 10 team” in their house at night. Recipe for disaster. But figured if we lost it would be close, not a beat down like that.
I said this earlier in the year, but this season goes where Connor goes, and right now that ain’t anywhere. Reed is a serviceable back up, but we got extremely fortunate LSU can’t defend a simple zone read, most other teams can which is gonna limit what Marcel can do. We need Mizzou game Connor if we want a chance at the SEC championship and Playoffs.
Have we broken 300 yards passing in any game this year? I don’t think we have. College football (and the NFL now too) is all about the pass game. We need to get after it and find a better system/QB/whatever and start airing it out more.
