So, who's going to the portal?

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that our best-ever recruiting class was going to get cannibalized. After the spark of hope for the future last night, who do we actually lose? My first guess is that King will be holding FG and PAT attempts for SFA next year. LSU is pretty thin at RB, so it wouldn't surprise me if Moss went home. Who else?

Whoever leaves will want the same if not more $$$ else where
Let those leave and recruit their replacements

Ish Harris
Marshall
Jeudy
Johnson
None are huge losses. Some will ring their hands about Marshall but he’s a cancer and has to go.

Oh yeah completely forgot about him. Was worried news about Jake/Max was about to break

I’ve talked to several people who are pretty confident there won’t be a mass exodus. You’ll have some guys who haven’t played or aren’t going to play leave, and maybe 1-2 guys that you wish would stick around but overall I just don’t see it. The national media and other teams will certainly over exaggerate the situation to make it seem worse than it is.

Hope you're right. I know we've already lost a couple that got buried on the depth chart, but those are to be expected. I really expect to lose Haynes. He's not good enough for the SEC, but could probably be serviceable at SFA, SHSU, or Texas State. I think he knows that, barring injuries, he's done as the starter at TAMU.

Hate to lose his talent, but sometimes addition by subtraction is necessary. I still feel pretty good about our WR group.
BTW, does Ainias still have another year of eligibility? If so, Smith, Stewart, and Moose would be a pretty lethal trio.

Only one so far I'm dissapointed in is LJ Johnson. With Achane gone, we will need the next couple of guys to step up and become the go to backs and I think he has the talent.
Ish Harris, I mean if he couldnt get any playing time with the sh*t show our linebackers have been this year, multiple games missed, I'm guessing he's not as great of a player as we thought he was.
Marshall would be a loss of talent, but probably be an upgrade to the lockeroom chemistry.
I dont know if Ainias has another year or not, but I think he's setting his sights on going pro regardless. Need to keep Stewart and Moose in house and then find another solid guy or two to have an awesome receiving corps.

McKinnley Jackson isn't :)

Supposedly Marshall wants to stay, according to a friend. Not sure if he can at this point, but wouldn't be opposed. Weigman can keep the entire offense in line

Add Chase Lane to the list. Interesting guy, he got decent playing time here despite there seeming to be more talent in other guys at the position. Has a podcast he’s been doing about A&M football. Guess he’s chasing even more playing time? Good luck to him.

If we're ranking the top WRs on the team, where does Lane sit? Stewart and Moose at the top. Marshall is next if he's still around. After that, he's probably in a tier with Preston (is he done?), Brown, & Thomas. I'd take all 3 over him though.
If things go to hell, he's maybe #3. If things go to plan, he's probably #7. Smart move to find somewhere else to get some PT.

Agreed. I would like him to stick around for depth. He’d be a good player to have if we have multiple starters get injured, a guy that has some game experience and decent talent. But otherwise I figure there’s more guys in front of him and he wants more playing time, don’t fault him for that.

tu has 6 guys entering the portal today alone. What a weird time for football.

They're all chasing the NIL money. Can't blame anyone who does tbh.

Nothing can be ruled out this early in the process, but it sounds like the players people were most concerned about transferring (Moose and Stewart to name a few) appear to be sticking around.
Won't be shocked to lose another DL or two, but that looks like a numbers issue more than the meltdown-induced exodus the CFB nation has been praying on
