It's crazy how much things have changed in the last 20 years or so. US colleges are now a training ground for Olympic teams from other countries. And no, I'm not being an old curmudgeon here and I'm all for it. But it's still crazy. 18 T&F athletes, 3 of 18 representing the USA.

TTM would be the only Aggie I can think of that would be going, but as far as I can tell he isn't.

If I misunderstood your question, "Serbia, Lithuania and Croatia bring talented teams per usual, but there’s nobody with the depth and scoring on paper to topple the Americans."

I meant is anyone expected to medal from A&M.

Oh course the US Men's Basketball is expected to win gold so there is one Aggie with a medal.

Anyone know if the other 26 athletes are expected to win anything?

Facey and Gastaldello will most likely medal.

I always root for UGA athletes to do well in the Olympics, but there's no way I'm rooting for the foreign ones over American athletes at rival schools.

I don't know how this compares to other schools, but it looks pretty freaking impressive to me.

It's definitely interesting to think about the state and donor resources that go into making our little campus in College Station, TX a training ground for Olympic athletes around the world.

Alia Atkinson finished 8th in the 100m breaststroke. That was the Lilly King whipping the roided Russian's arse race the other night.

Beryl Gastaldello (France) finished 7th in Women's 4x100m freestyle relay and 25th in the 100m butterfly heat. She's in the 100m freestyle heat today.

Not looking good for Stephanie Malherbe and South Afican soccer. They finished 4th in Group E (only 1 point). They went 0-2-1.
