I’m a little annoyed about Hunter Erb - it is obvious the kid can play but perceptions matter, especially when trying to get to the National Championship and past the media bias. He will never get a fourth star because he committed to us. Meanwhile Dewberry, Blake, Neto, etc are all sitting out there and may have a problem with our perceived depth.

I feel the kid is a little too much of a reach at this point, especially when trying to build out the class.

To people on the internet, yes.
To the recruits, not really.

Wykoff was a lowly 3 star commit early in the 2021 class and that didn't scare off Fatheree or Foster.

I don’t disagree. I just am frustrated the kid will never get the recognition he deserves. We are putting together a “nasty” OL, and I am talking about attitude. Erb looks like a bouncer

You do know that even Bama and OSU take 3 stars right?

I believe the rules state that after you've signed 3 straight Top 10 classes, you are required to drop the persecution complex

And a few months ago, you were in here spreading negative rumors about an A&M player so spare us with the "I'm just concerned about the HS kid" routine

I’m not spreading anything - interested to see how things go with Mond gone. He wasn’t liked by the younger players as much as the seniors that are mostly graduated now. King is incredibly popular with the team.

Find an OL, and this could be another great season

Bama just took a 0 star DL. We’ll be fine. He just got a million offers in a like 4 weeks. He’s plenty good.

Oh, and Nacho - the season was in jeopardy before Florida. Mond was on the verge of being benched, but I have to give the kid credit. Mond stepped up, had arguably his best game at A&M and the rest is history.

Why is it that Mond always plays his best when on the verge of being benched? It’s the only time I see him throw downfield ... for better or worse that problem is now gone.

I almost think it could work the other way. If he's lower rated by service, a higher rated recruit might not consider it *competition* a la Tate Martell's opinion of Nick Starkel. Not that anyone would be that much of a jerk but even subconsciously it might be a recruits perspective. I have a feeling it's not going to affect momentum.

This staff has strung together 3 straight top 10 classes. Most of them have come with early evals and commits by 3 stars followed by strong closes on our higher rated targets.

If there’s any difference between this 2022 class and others before, it’s that we’re recruiting much stronger early on then we have historically. And there’s no reason to believe they won’t close strong again or perception from a 3-star OL slows this momentum.

Yeah on the highlights reel he does have that look. He will need some coaching. But he likes pushing people around.
